A new chapter is unfolding at Nigeria’s premier social club as the Gravitaz Group of Island Club steps into the limelight. Conceived as an exclusive circle of eminent and dynamic gentlemen, the group represents a rare convergence of the old and the new — the energy of today blending with the passion of the tested. The vision is clear: to enrich the fabric of Island Club with vibrancy, refinement and a spirit of progressive fellowship.
The grand launch is set for Friday, 19 September 2025 at the iconic Adebutu Kessington Hall. The evening promises an unforgettable blend of style and entertainment with live performances from Queen Ayo Balogun, the electrifying beats of DJ Blasting Q from the United Kingdom, and the formal unveiling of the Grand Patron and Patrons who will provide leadership for this bold new chapter.
At the forefront of the distinguished foundation members are Asiwaju Alexander Olu Onabanjo, Asiwaju of Ago Iwoye and respected statesman, Senator Iyiola Omisore, a renowned engineer, politician and technocrat, and Engineer Oladele Amoda, the former Chief Executive of Eko Electricity Distribution Company and an esteemed authority in the energy sector.
The Interim Leader of the group, Aare Eyitayo Adebowale, FCA, fondly called the Chief Gravitaz, will unveil the group’s mission and vision, while the Chairman of Island Club, Omo’ba Dr Rotimi Olasode Martins, KCOP, Jagunmolu of Owu Kingdom and Gbeselekun of Lagos, will formally inaugurate the fellowship.
The Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Majesty Oba Sakariyawu O Oladimeji, Ilufemiloye I, the Orangun of Ika Orangun in Ejigbo, Osun State, will lend his blessing to the historic occasion, underscoring the cultural and traditional gravitas of the moment.
For Island Club, this is more than the birth of another group. It is the start of a new movement of elegance, dynamism and progress. Indeed, a new dawn has arrived at Island Club and its name is The Gravitaz.
