The Group Managing Director/C.E.O of Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuelking has revealed that the Adron Games initiative of his company was birth majorly to promote fitness and unity not only among his staff but within the corporate organisations and the society generally. This, he said, is line with the aim and objective of his company when Adron Games was created some years ago.
Aare Emmanuelking revealed these while speaking at the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of Adron Games (Festival of Fitness) in Ibadan. The Games, which featured different sporting activities, held at the new Awolowo Sports Complex of the University of Ibadan, between 11-13 October, 2019. The events also witnessed a huge turnout of sport, music and entertainment stars as well as many top celebrities who grace the 3-day event.
Describing this year’s edition of the Games as a significant milestone in fostering networking, fitness and bonding initiatives of Adron Homes.
In his words, “this Games was created to cement friendship and unity within us as a corporate organization and our nation.
The theme for this year’s games is ‘Festival of Fitness’ and at Adron Homes and Properties Limited, we believe that we must not only be for but we must also be healthy. Hence we have been promoting fitness all these years though our annual Adron Games,” he said.
On the positive effects of sports on a society. “Sports as universally upheld, is the key to building a better future. We often take sports and leisure for granted. Yet millions of people around the world do not have access to sports, or are actively denied their right to participate.
We all admire the athletes and achievements on display during the just concluded 17th edition of Wolves Athletics Championship IAAF-DOHA 2019, the beautiful and victorious performance of our athletes at the recently concluded All African Games. This collective passion to victory that was in display is what we wish to replicate with Adron Games.
Indeed there is a remarkable power in sports. When you see the magic that a ball can create among children in a shantytown or refugee camp, you’ll see potential that we must harness.
Engaging in sports and physical fitness is not all just about winning at all cost. It is about maintaining a healthy lifestyle that creates a good physiological function of the entire body system. The passion and the love for the game that we out with can be lost if that were the sole objective. Winning a championship could be great, but there is something so unifying about sport in its purely form.
Participation in physical activity and sport easily leads to a healthier population. Sport and physical activity have positive effects on both individuals and society in general. The value and effect of engaging in sport is bountiful, so we want to get more people being physically active safely from a young age , and help them stay active throughout their lives, no matter what their economic or social background may be.
Through this initiative, we wish to appreciate and encourage the productive capacity of the sports sector: we wish to encourage innovation, communication and knowledge.”
