The ancient town of Odosenlu-Alaro in the royal landscape of Ijebu Land is already buzzing with excitement as all preparations near completion for a historic celebration of culture, honour, and service. The community is set to welcome home one of its illustrious sons and his wife in a grand installation ceremony that promises elegance, tradition, and heartfelt celebration.

On Saturday, December 13th, 2025, the palace of the Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro Kingdom will host dignitaries from across Nigeria and abroad as Otunba (Dr.) Taiwo Oluwole Olubanwo is installed as the Otunba Atunluse of Odosenlu-Alaro, while his wife, Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Adunni Olubanwo, receives the title of Yeye Otunba Atunluse.

The ceremony was confirmed through an official letter dated October 13th, 2025, and signed by the Secretary of the Coronation Committee, Chief A. A. Durojaiye, which read:

“In reference to your letter of acceptance of the above Chieftaincy Title, I am directed to inform you that the installation ceremony of the Otunba Atunluse and Yeye Atunluse of Odosenlu-Alaro will take place on 13th December 2025, by 10:00 a.m. at the Palace of the Olu of Odosenlu-Alaro Kingdom, by God’s grace.”

But beyond the drums, regalia, and royal rites lies a profound story of service, excellence, and unwavering commitment to humanity.

A Global Visionary Comes Home

Few lives illustrate purpose-driven leadership like that of Dr. Taiwo Olubanwo, a Canadian-based medical executive whose professional achievements span nearly two decades across continents. As Executive Director of Primary Health Care in Canada, he oversees critical areas including physician and nursing services, EMS, public health, mental health, Indigenous health, community wellness, and more.

His leadership is renowned for its innovation, empathy, and determination to uplift underserved populations. Dr. Olubanwo doesn’t just lead systems — he transforms them. His voice continues to shape global health conversations, particularly around equity and community-centred care.

Philanthropy Rooted in Home

Despite his global footprint, Dr. Olubanwo’s heart beats strongly for Nigeria. His philanthropic interventions across Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, and other states reflect his devotion to uplifting rural and underprivileged communities.

From healthcare infrastructure to educational support, youth empowerment, and poverty alleviation, his actions demonstrate that philanthropy is not an act of charity but an investment in humanity. His initiatives are strategic, impactful, and deeply aligned with community needs.

Enterprise With Impact

A visionary entrepreneur, Dr. Olubanwo leads a portfolio of thriving companies that combine innovation with purpose. As Chairman and CEO of Unicemed Consortium Inc., BanwOil Petroleum, Zenith City Hotels & Suites, Apex Premium Estate, Unicemed Medical Centre, Zenith City Motors, and Regal Wellness Foundation Inc. (Canada), his business empire reflects ambition blended with service.

Each venture creates jobs, supports families, and uplifts communities in both Canada and Nigeria — reinforcing his belief that business must serve humanity.

Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Olubanwo: A Pillar of Grace and Service

The honour also recognises the remarkable contributions of Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Adunni Olubanwo, a respected clinician and Director of Outpatient Clinics in Canada. Recently installed as the Iya Ijo (Matron) of St. Peter African Church in Ijebu Land, she stands out as a spiritual, professional, and social pillar.

As President of the Regal Wellness Foundation Inc., she leads programs that empower women, support vulnerable families, and provide essential healthcare services. Her compassion is practical, consistent, and deeply transformative.

Her title of Yeye Otunluse is a fitting crown to years of service anchored in faith, empowerment, and community upliftment.

The Symbolism of “Atunluse” — Rebuilders of the Community

The title Atunluse — meaning “one who rebuilds the community” — could not be more apt for the Olubanwos. Through healthcare, philanthropy, enterprise, and community service, they have rebuilt lives, restored dignity, and expanded opportunities for countless people.

Their coronation is not just a cultural honour; it is a celebration of impactful leadership that transcends borders.

A Legacy in Motion

From the corridors of Canadian healthcare leadership to the royal grounds of Ijebu Land, the story of Otunba (Dr.) Taiwo Olubanwo and Yeye (Dr.) Oluwakemi Olubanwo is a masterclass in purpose, excellence, and cultural pride. Their installation represents the meeting point of tradition and transformation — a reminder that true royalty is measured not by titles, but by service.

Long may they reign — in wisdom, compassion, and community-building.
