In the next few days, family, friends and colleagues of Arc Tenny Mankini Daniyan will gather in Lagos to celebrate his successful retirement from the Nigeria Customs Service. He has had a beautiful career.
Arc. Tenny Mankini Daniyan was born on 9 December 1965 in Igarra and hails from Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Bendel State University, a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a Master’s degree in Facilities Management from the University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA) and a Fellow of the International Facility Management Association (FIFMA).
He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme with the Niger State Housing Corporation, after which he joined the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in 1991. Over the course of his distinguished career, he made significant contributions to major infrastructure and development projects within the Service and served across several strategic units. He was also a key member of both the Customs Headquarters Review Committee and the Nationwide Asset Audit Committee, where he played critical roles in institutional reform and asset management oversight. Arc. Daniyan was promoted to the rank of Comptroller in 2023 and deployed to the PTML Command, where he provided visionary leadership.
Under his supervision and visionary leadership, the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS – B’Odogwu) was successfully launched at the PTML Command, marking a historic milestone in the Nigeria Customs Service’s digital transformation agenda. The Command continues to benefit from this success story today, through enhanced efficiency, transparency, revenue assurance, and trade facilitation outcomes.

In 2025, he rose to the rank of Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) and led the pilot command for the Nigeria Customs Service Digital Payment Platform for Goods Clearance, a landmark initiative in the Service’s digital transformation and trade facilitation agenda.
He is married with children and is widely respected for his professionalism, discipline, integrity, and unwavering dedication to national service, leaving behind a lasting legacy of excellence, institutional impact, and service to the nation within the Nigeria Customs Service.
