Foremost Ibadan-born businessman and philanthropist, Chief Wole Arisekola, at the weekend donated over 200 school bags containing various items, including exercise books and mathematical sets, to the pupils of his community in the Oje area of the ancient city as they prepare to resume for the new academic session.
Arisekola, who is also the publisher of Street Journal Magazine and the Mogaji Ajenigieye of Oje, Ibadan, has made his ‘back-to-school’ initiative a constant ritual. This, he said, is part of his many plans for educational empowerment for the benefit of his people.
“This is part of my plans for my people, as an educated society is already liberated from all forms of poverty,” he noted, adding that all he needs from the parents of the beneficiaries of the initiative is their cooperation to ensure that their wards are committed to their education.
Apart from the back-to-school program, there are many students at both secondary and higher institutions within Ibadan and beyond who are beneficiaries of Arisekola’s educational empowerment.
He has, over the years, leveraged his resources and influence to touch many lives, including those in business and in the area of skills acquisition.
Mogaji Wole Arisekola, through his philanthropic gestures, has undoubtedly been a source of inspiration to many.
He is not only empowering the next generation but also paving the way for a future filled with endless possibilities for the young ones.
