Former Communications Minister, Barrister Adebayo Shittu is on the move again. He wants to be the next Governor of Oyo State, on the platform of APC. And he is dead serious about it. He has just come out with his gubernatorial Manifesto for 2027-2031. It’s a 7 Cardinal programme. And he told City People a few days ago that he is the candidate to beat. “There is no top politician in this state that has prepared for this job like I have done. I am ready for governance. I am prepared. I have my manifesto ready. Its a 7 Cardinal progrmame Manifesto. Nobody has done what I have done. I have painstakingly prepared my manifesto.

(1) Free, Qualitative and Functional Education: Free education up to Secondary School Level and adequate bursaries for all Oyo State Students in tertiary institutions. Furthermore, massive renovation of educational infrastructure and provision of new ones would be undertaken. Complete computerization of educational processes would also be incorporated at all levels of education in the State.
(2) Comprehensive Health/Medical Reforms: Provision of comprehensive health/medical services that will be functional, accessible and free for the vulnerable groups like children below 15 years of age, adults above 60 years old, women in ante-natal conditiors and the physically-challenged
(3) Integrated Infrastructural Transformation: Ensuring an integrated infrastructural transformation of Oyo State through provision of good road network, efficient state-wide communication system, affordable housing for low income earners, sustainable electricity for all communities and steady water supply to all communities. These will be taken care by the establishment of a Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities.
(4) Full and Gainful Employment for all: Provision of full employment for all citizens through the establishment of relevant mass employment agencies which would ensure socio-economic transformation of Oyo State and provide employment for all, particularly the youth and women, who would themselves, become employers of labour and creators of wealth,
(5) Integrated Agricultural and Rural Development: We shall embark on an integrad approach to agricultural and rural development by guaranteeing mass production of food for sustenance, raw materials for industrial growth and mass emplovinent for the people through irrigation and mechanized farming that puts money in the pocket of farmers and food on the table of all
(6) Industrial Transformation of Oyo State: Reviving industrial growth in Oyo State through exploitation of the industrial potentials of various communities, creation of industrial-friendly climate, establishment of industrial parks and support for Small Medium Scale Enterprises (SMES) for the overall benefit of the citizenry shall be of utmost priority
(7) Citizens’ Distress Relief Porgramme: This would comprise of the following: (a) Introducing into the governance of Oyo State, the effective practicalisation of Yoruba concepts of “Omoluabi”, “Ore Ara llu and Alaanu Mekunnu”.
(b) Actively engaging young people and the youths in general, in charting a more steady growth and welfare programmes for their present and future development. This would include the provision of fifteen different age-appropriate leisure and sports facilities for them (c) Appropriate welfare packages for the old, the infirm, the needy and the disabled in society. Generally all widows, orphans, the physically challenged and vulnerable children would the adequately taken care of under this programme.
Now, the big TASK for you, if you want A NEW LEASE OF LIFE in Oyo State, and if you want LIFE-MORE-ABUNDANT for ALL, all you need to do is to vote BARRISTER ADEBAYO SHITTU to become OYO STATE GOVERNOR in 2027. In addition to the above masses-oriented and sustainable cardinal programmes, I would. by the grace of God:
(a) Implement an upward review of salaries and allowances to enable civil and public servants live above poverty level.
(b) Ensure only reasonable taxes on basic salaries of all civil and public servants
(c) Ensure tax-free emoluments
(d) Ensure merit-based promotions which would be transparent and devoid of nepotism, sentiments and favouratism, and as at when due.
(e) Ensure complimentary service years for workers on approved study leave without pay Review all cases of alleged political victimization to ensure justice, fair-play and a sense of belonging
(g) Implement a hitch-free retirement policy such that all government retirees are paid their gratituties within 90 days of leaving service. (h) Would NEVER engage in arbitrary sacking or dismissal of any civil or public servant under any circumstances. (1) Establishment of farm settlements in the entire 14 House of Representative Constituencies across the State.
(1) Encouragements of Oyo State graduates of Agriculture with attractive financial and material backings to invest in agricultural projects.
(k) Establishment of LCT. hubs in all communities across Oyo State for easy access to the entire electronic world
(1) Provision of Digital and Vocational trainings, including coding, digital literacy, digital marketing, cyber-security and other high demand ICT skills for 250,000 Oyo State Youths, to enable them compete in the global job markets.
(m) Support the implementation of Local Government autonomy for grassroots developments.
(n) Improve the security outfit in the State to give relief to manufacturers, commuters, communities and to increase influx of investors to the State for gainful employment opportunities,
(p) Creating executive fora to meet with the citizens at 7 zonal levels at regular basis through BPADE GOMINA”
(q) Construction of State’s Railway infrastructure from Ibadan to Ibarapa, Iseyin, Shaki, Kishi, Ighe, Ogbomoso, Oyo and to Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
