Abisoye Fagade, the Principal Consultant and Chief Executive Officer at Sodium Brand Solutions Ltd, is eyeing the number one position in Oyo State and he is not hiding this.

The Ibadan-born marketing communication guru strongly believes his expertise and experience in business will be brought to bear on the development of the state if given the chance.

Fagade, City People gathered, is not only putting the necessary machinery in place to achieve his dream but has also embarked on wide consultations across boards. He is said to be banking on his vast experience in the business world, popularity and goodwill as a philanthropist.

Over the years Fagade, through his Oyo Si Ma Dun (OSMD) network, has developed and groomed several youths. OSMD, according to Fagade, was established to help develop a path to good governance with specific focus on Oyo State.

Fagade’s political ambitions, however, experienced a major boost penultimate Friday ago when he buried his mother in Ibadan, the capital city of the pacesetter state.

For two days, that christian wake and burial proper held on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 August, 2021, respectively, Ibadan was on standstill as results of the massive influx of who-is-who in the society.

Top celebrites from different sectors of the society within and beyond the shores of Nigeria graced the occasion. It was a huge party, and indeed a celebration of a life well spent of Abisoye Fagade’s mum, late Deaconess Comfort Fagade.

Five prominent traditional rulers as well as top chiefs and captains of industries stormed the party in grand style. The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso; Elegushi of Ikate, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi; Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi,Telu 1; Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Oloyede Gbadamosi, Okikiola Esuwoye II and the Olugbon of Ile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao.

Also at the glamorous party were the likes of Chief Bayo Adelabu, a retired CBN Deputy Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate in the last election; Akogun Sarafadeen Abiodun-Ali; Senator Grace Bent; Hon Shina Peller; Hon Akinwale Akinwole, Chairman AA Luxury Ogbomoso; Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, Executive Secretary, National Sugar Development Council (NSDC); Hon Dapo Lam Adesina; Steve Ayorinde; Dayo Iyaniwura and a whole lot of other who are too numerous to mention.

Apart from the quality of the crowd at the party, Bisoye Fagade has been able to set a new standard in the social circle. The burial ceremony, arguably, has doused whatever social buzz the Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial in Oba, Anambra State, must have generated. The internet has been on fire since two weeks ago that Fagade held the party, held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), University of Ibadan.

For the first time in the history of the country’s social establishment, guests were served with snake and crocodile barbecue, garnished in an irresistible manner.

King Sunday Adegeye popularly known as KSA and Vintage Band thrilled the guests with good tunes. And what was constant on the lips of both musicians of the day, was Abisoye Fagade’s political ambition. In fact, he was being serenaded as the incoming governor of Oyo State come 2023.

The party, no doubt, was a kind of litmus test of Abisoye Fagade’s popularity in politics, business and social circles. He has proven himself to be the qualified man for the job, the Oyo governorship position.

Of course, that is not surprising to those who are familiar with Fagade’s antecedents. Abisoye Fagade, born on 10 March 1974, in Ibadan, is a Nigerian businessman and a politician.

He attended Queen of Apostle Primary School Oluyoro, Ibadan and Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu, Ibadan, for his primary and secondary school education, respectively.

He studied Demography and Social Statistics at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife and graduated in flying colours.

Abisoye Fagade is the founder and Managing Director of Sodium Brand Solutions. A consortium that deals in Marketing Communications, Media, Consumer Goods, Hospitality and Oil & Gas.

He is also the founder of the Abisoye Fagade Foundation. The foundation is aimed at empowering Nigerian youth, through mentorship and skills transfer.
