by Reporter

On July 1, 2025, Rtn. Aduragbemi Smith Ogundipe will officially step into the role of President of the Rotary Club of Abeokuta, a significant milestone in a journey deeply rooted in community service and dedication. Born on April 20, 1977, to the late Akinleye Ogundipe and Mrs. Ruth Ogundipe in Isolo, Ado-Odo, Ogun State, Aduragbemi’s life is a testament to the power of commitment and the pursuit of dreams.

His educational journey started at Army Children School and continued through various institutions, culminating in a degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Aduragbemi’s passion for knowledge led him to further studies in Poultry Production in India. Little did he know, his academic pursuits would only be a stepping stone toward a life dedicated to serving others.

After fulfilling his mandatory NYSC program, Aduragbemi honed his skills in the agricultural sector as a Farm Manager and later as a Farm Operations Manager at Nu-Breed Breeder Farms and Hatchery. However, it was his move to the United States in 2011 that opened new doors—culminating in a fulfilling military career with the U.S. Navy, followed by a transition into nursing.

His return to academia in Florida marked yet another chapter in his story, as he obtained nursing degrees and began working in critical care at Eskenazi Hospital. Yet, amidst all these achievements, Rtn. Aduragbemi never forgot the ideals of Rotary that had influenced his life back in Nigeria.

As a dedicated member of the Rotaract Club during his time at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, he had already begun making an impact. He served as a leader, guiding the Rotaract Club of Abeokuta to receive accolades as the Best Rotaract Club in District 9110. His commitment continued to flourish as he became a Rotarian in 2008, serving as club secretary and later maintaining an active presence in Rotary activities from abroad.

Now, as he prepares to take on the prestigious role of President, Rtn. Aduragbemi is poised to lead the Rotary Club of Abeokuta with vision and compassion. He has a deep understanding of the challenges facing communities locally and globally, combined with a passion for implementing projects that improve lives.

His presidency is set to embrace the core values of Rotary—Service Above Self—and he aims to inspire fellow Rotarians to engage in meaningful community service projects that leave a lasting impact. With his rich background, enthusiasm for collaboration, and unwavering dedication to making dreams real, Aduragbemi is ready to lead the club into a new era of service and fellowship.

Rooted in his commitment to Rotary and strengthened by his loving family, Aduragbemi remains motivated by the belief that together, through Rotary, they can create a better world. He is supported by his wife, Mrs Adenike Ogundipe, and their daughter, Inioluwa Sharon, who share his vision for a brighter future.

As the Rotary Club of Abeokuta embarks on this new chapter under Rtn. Aduragbemi’s leadership, there is no doubt that his passion, experience, and dedication will guide them to new heights of service and community impact. Here’s to a fruitful, transformative year ahead!
