This is about the forthcoming 90th birthday of Mrs. Harrietta Bamidele Adejumo w, the mother of CEO Arise Woman, Siju Iluyomade.
As you read this letter, invitation cards, have gone out from Siju Iluyomade requesting the esteemed presence of her friends to honour her dear mother, Mrs. Henrietta Bamidele Adejumo, as she marks her iconic 90th birthday.
Mrs. Henrietta Bamidele Adejumo, is a remarkable woman. She is a British-trained nurse who has been widowed for over 45 years. She single-handedly raised her five children to the highest levels of their professional careers. Her dedication to the field of nursing and healthcare is truly commendable.
After working extensively as a nurse in the UK, she returned to Nigeria and became a pioneer staff member at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba. Her passionate advocacy for general health and good medical care for all, propelled her drive and focus during the Industrial Revolution towards the establishment of clinics in all industries across Nigeria.
Furthermore, through her diligent and conscientious efforts, the way was paved for the establishment of the ‘Foundation of the Industrial Nurses Association’ a union in charge of the welfare of nurses across board. Not a mean feat for a woman of her time. She never stopped working in Nigeria and internationally.
Mrs. Henrietta Bamidele Adejumo is not only a dedicated healthcare professional,but also a devout member of the Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina,in Lagos.She has received the Cathedral’s highest honour and is an active member of the International Women’s Society, among other esteemed organisations.
The birthday will hold on Monday, 2nd October 2023 with a Church service at The Cathedral Church of Christ Marina, Lagos. Following the service, there will be a grand reception at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos where the triumph of a remarkable woman and the victory of a hardworking and virtuous individual will be celebrated.
Dress code options for the occasion is either a black tie or a white full traditional attire with a pink cap.
