All is set for the much talked about 20th City People Award for Excellence which is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the prestigious B-Event Centre Marquee, inside the Airport Hotel, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja. The City People Awards for Excellence is the most sought after, most prestigious and longest running awards in the country. It recognizses organizations and individuals pushing the boundaries of various sectors. A HOST OF COMEDIANS

The combination of Lolo and MC Abbey on stage would sure spark some laughs but the real deal is that they would anchor the Ceremony. The comedians would host the event and coordinate its flow of program from the stage working hand in hand together to give guests the best of the night.

The event would experience good music at its best with Ludareh dishing out sounds in its pure state. The Ludareh Iconic Live Band would thrill guests with live music and renditions on stage and its no longer news that the band sure knows how to keep guests on their feet dancing.

A night of excellence wouldn’t be complete without rib-cracking jokes from some of the finest comedians Nigeria has produced. It promises to be a night of fun as over 7 comedians would take turn to thrill guests present at the event with comedy. Koffi, Mandy, Baba De Baba, MC Ajele, Hugo Boss and many more would be present to do their thing on stage.

9ICE, ORITSEFEMI & W4 TO ROCK THE STAGE

The combination of these 3 acts would sure ignite some major entertainment during the event. 9ice, the Gongo Aso master would be thrilling guests with some of his old and new tracks. Oritsefemi would also take to the stage to entertain guests. Not leaving out W4 who returned to the scene with his hit song, Medicine. The Pop Group who have been silent for a long while have reunited and they would be making their first major public appearance at the City People Awards For Excellence come this Sunday. Nicknamed ‘Warri’ during the show, Kitay emerged 2nd runner-up, winning N2 Million cash prize and a brand-new saloon car. The MTN Project Fame Runner Up would be present at the event to add some spice to the band with Live performance.

For successfully running the affairs of the 3 most challenging ministries in Nigeria, Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola who is popularly called BRF is to be honoured at the City People Awards for Excellence. He has been adjudged to be the most performing Minister in President Buhari’s cabinet.

For their remarkable support in the Lagos Marathon which held some weeks back, Access Bank would be honoured at the 20th Edition of the City People Excellence Award. A total of about 100,000 athletes drawn from 27 countries took part in the Marathon. Herbert Onyewumbu Wigwe, who is the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank would also be honoured.

EFCC BOSS, IBRAHIM MAGU TO BE HONOURED

The EFCC boss, Magu would be honoured at the Awards for his fight against Corruption in the country. This no nonesence Cop Magu would be receiving the award for EFCC as the Most Effective Government Agency In Nigeria.

CUSTOMS BOSS TOO

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) is to be honoured. He is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Service. He is equally the accounting officer of the service and the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, which is chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance. For his remarkable contribution towards the fight against illegal importation, he would be recognized at the Awards.

LAGOS LG BOSS, GBENGA ABIOLA TO BE HONOURED

Oluwagbenga Michael Abiola is one of the hottest sole administrators in Lagos right now. Born 16 February, 1988, he is the Sole Administrator of Agege Local Government Area, Lagos State. At 28 he is the youngest serving Council boss in the history of local government administration in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. He is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gbenga began his political career in 2006 as a party agent under both the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) and Action Congress (AC), which later metamorphosed into APC. He contested the position of Councillorship in Ward B of Agege local government area in 2011 under Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) but had to step down for another candidate. He was sworn in as the Sole Administrator of Agege Local Government Area on June 13, 2016 by Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of Lagos State, with other 56 Sole Administrators.
