City People Magazine has honoured Abiodun Onifade with its 2022 Tech & Innovation Award, subcategory – Tech for Good Award, recognising his pioneering work in marketing science, data analytics, and technology-driven social impact across African and global markets.

A leading Marketing Data Scientist, Onifade was selected from a competitive pool across Africa and the diaspora for transforming marketing execution through advanced analytics. His work helps brands simplify decisions, accelerate insights, and achieve measurable financial and social results.

As a Doctoral Researcher in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics at Westcliff University, California, he contributes to scholarship on AI adoption and predictive modelling while applying these frameworks in real business environments. His consulting projects deliver clear improvements in revenue, transparency, and sustainable decision-making.

City People highlighted his ability to “turn data into understanding and understanding into growth,” noting that his work exemplifies responsible and human-centred innovation.

Onifade’s track record spans telecommunications, healthcare, logistics, and e-commerce. At Telnet (now Paycom/Opay), he deployed analytics-led campaigns that doubled engagement. At Nokia West Africa, his data-driven youth strategy increased device activation by 23 percent. His U.S. healthcare analytics improved patient bookings by 20 percent and marketing ROI by 25 percent. At Cars45, he supported market expansion into four African countries in one year. His strategy insights at HP Inc. also influenced $5 million in funding decisions and expanded East African market penetration by 18 percent per quarter.

His published works—covering predictive campaign analytics, brand advocacy metrics, and AI-driven marketing efficiency—reflect a commitment to research that drives real-world impact.

Onifade holds degrees in Mass Communication and Advertising, an MBA in International Business, and is completing a DBA in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. He is also certified as a PMP, Management Consultant, and Marketing Analyst, and is affiliated with several global professional bodies.

Celebrated for his mentorship and human-focused leadership, Onifade emphasises using data to empower people and support ethical, evidence-based decisions.

Reflecting on the award, he said, “Data is a conversation with your customer. My role is to listen, measure honestly, and help teams act with confidence. This award encourages me to keep advancing marketing science for business and society.”

City People’s Tech for Good Award recognises not only his achievements, but his commitment to using technology as a tool for equitable and sustainable progress.
