The Collegiate Taekwondo Championships (COTACH) for the year 2018 tagged “COTACH 2018 – BACK TO THE FUTURE” will hold at the high flying Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos, between August 1 – 4, 2018 .
This is in fulfilment of the pledge to take the competition round all Nigeria tertiary institutions, after the first three editions had been hosted by the primus inter pares school where martial arts practice started in Nigeria schools of higher learning, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
The hosting right was awarded to LASU following aggressive interest shown by the entire university community up to the VC’s office.
The COTACH organisation is particularly impressed and encouraged. Expressions of interest by other institutions to host subsequent ones are already pouring in. COTACH is literally and physically GOING PLACES!! This year’s event promises to be a hi-tech, game changing affair.
Arrangements are in top gear to sponsor the best male and female players to represent Nigeria at the World University Games, FISU.
The Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire is responsible for the organisation and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 28.

Universities, polytechnics, colleges of education and technology in Nigeria and West Africa have now caught the COTACH bug!
The Collegiate Taekwondo Championship (COTACH) was founded on the passion to promote the art of Taekwondo as well as intellectualism among the youths in tertiary institutions. The aim is to raise individuals who are both at the top of their game physically as well as sound in intellect.
