A former Commissioner of Finance and Budget in Oyo State, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi in his usual benevolent manner has joined top celebrities who have shown concerns in the fight against Coronavirus pandemic that is presently rampaging the country and indeed the whole world.
Adekanmbi, through his Bimbo Adekanmbi Initiative (BAI), has not only embarked on an aggressive sensitization amongst traders within and outside Ibadan, campaigning on precautionary measures to be taken to curb the spread of Coronavirus. He has also been distributing thousands of hand sanitizers and several other relief materials to market men and women in Ibadan.

The ex-comissioner however takes the campaign against Coronavirus to the grassroots by storming major markets in the state’s capital on Monday, sensitising them and distributing hand sanitizers, COVID19 Relief Rice across all 33 LGA’s, and donating in Millions to UCH to upscale their capacity to fight COVID-19.
The sensitization and distribution held at Bus Stop Gate, Oje , Orita Aperin, Amuloko, Bere, Agbeni, Ogunpa, Dugbe, Gbagi and Ojoo.

This initiative, according to Adekanmbi, becomes necessary in order to prevent many lives from the deadly virus. “The sensitization and distribution of the materials is a genuine concern for the health and total well being of the people,” he said.
Adekanmbi’s campaign team against the spread of Coronavirus has also toured Oyo town to sensitise and distribute hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The major areas visited in Oyo by the team include Akesan, Owode markets and some other communities in Oyo.
Adekanmbi also warned the general public to follow to the latter the guildlines itemized by the health experts, which include regular washing of hands with liquid soap and water; avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands; covering the nose and mouth with napkin, handkerchief or nose mask while coughing or sneezing and; maintaining the social distancing order.
He also admonished people to be careful about the information they spread in this trying time, especially on social media. As unverified information can lead to panic which might cause unwarranted stigmatization against health workers, people of a certain ethnicity or patients
