On the occasion of the Girl Child Day, the Passionate Humanitarian Foundation (PHF) celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal, marking a special day in the lives of young girls at Keke Senior High School, Agege, Lagos. This event, held on October 13, 2025, was the fourth edition of its kind, underscoring PHF’s commitment to supporting and empowering the girl child.
The theme for this year’s International Day of the Girl Child is “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗜 𝗔𝗺, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱.” This theme resonated deeply with the foundation’s mission to provide support and empowerment to young girls, enabling them to reach their full potential and become the change leaders of tomorrow.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆
The Girl Child Day is a significant event that highlights the importance of promoting the rights and welfare of girls worldwide. It serves as a reminder of the challenges girls face and the need for collective action to address these issues. The theme of this year’s celebration resonated with the foundation’s mission to provide support and empowerment to young girls, enabling them to reach their full potential.


𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲
𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿. 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗷𝗶, President and Visionary of Passionate Humanitarian Foundation, expressed appreciation for their welcoming attitude and well-coordinated interaction she had with the audience. She reiterated her decision that championing the cause of the female gender, especially the girl child, is dear to her heart. In her contribution, 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗺𝗶 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗷𝗶, daughter of the President expressed joy for being part of the team that accomplished the great task with undivided attention while serving their host.
The 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, led by 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿. 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗻𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗷𝗶, President and Visionary, has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare and empowerment of girls. The foundation’s decision to celebrate the Girl Child Day with a special program at Keke Senior High School was a testament to its commitment to this cause. The event featured the presentation of packs of sanitary pads to students, particularly the girls, to promote menstrual hygiene and dignity.
𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀:
The foundation’s efforts to empower young girls were evident in the enthusiasm and excitement of the students who participated in the program. By providing sanitary pads and other forms of support, PHF aimed to inspire and motivate young girls to pursue their dreams and aspirations. The foundation’s initiatives are designed to promote the holistic development of girls, enabling them to become confident, capable, and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽:
The success of the Girl Child Day celebration was made possible through the collaboration and partnership between the 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗞𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 The school’s management, led by 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗔𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹, and her team, played a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
Also, 𝗠𝗿𝘀 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗷𝘂, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 played an active part in sorting and distribution of the items (sanitary pads) to the girls. While 𝗠𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗼, 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 1, Agege gave her invaluable advice.
The foundation’s team, including 𝗔𝗺𝗯. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝘆-𝗜𝗷𝗶, a member of the board of trustees and volunteers, worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
Special appreciation to 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗮 & 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for their huge support both in cash and book donation.
𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀
The event featured inspiring speakers, including 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗻-𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗷𝗶, the guest speaker, who delivered a powerful presentation that spoke extensively to this year’s theme, “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹 𝗜 𝗔𝗺, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱.” She encouraged the girls to take charge of their lives, believe in themselves, and strive for excellence. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of menstrual hygiene, highlighting the need for girls to prioritize their health and well-being during their menstrual cycles. Her motivational speech and generous gesture served as a source of inspiration to the students, encouraging them to strive for excellence. The winners of the question-and-answer section received a roll of sanitary pads and a copy of her published book, “Flow – Fantastic Lines of Wisdom.”

The Girl Child Day celebration with 𝗞𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of the 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀. The event served as a reminder of the importance of promoting the welfare and empowerment of girls, enabling them to reach their full potential and become positive contributors to society. As the foundation continues to champion the cause of the girl child, it is hoped that more organisations and individuals will join hands to support this noble endeavour.
