In the summer of 1973, a young black American DJ threw a party in Bronx, New York and decided to switch the music up by mixing beats and creating longer songs that allowed people to dance for longer periods. Thus, a new genre of music was born, one that has reached all parts of the world and has influenced millions of people since then.

Today, forty-four years, Google is celebrating DJ Kool Herc’s brainchild with a creative Doodle that allows you to mix, scratch and create your own hiphop mix- Bronx style.
