Before He Emerged President In 2023
NIGERIA’s 1st Lady Sen. OLUREMI TINUBU
A few days back, HE Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON turned 65. She didn’t have an Owambe party, as many of those in her status would do. She only asked friends and well wishers to contribute to the ongoing efforts to complete the National Library.
She also released another in hrt autobiographical series to mark her milestone age.
The title of her new book is The Journey of GRACE: Giving Thanks In All Things, taken from the Biblical quote: “In everything give thanks. For this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV).
Senator Oluremi Tinubu dedicated the book to her husband, Pres Bola Tinubu who she called the brave & courageous man that I know and love, who against Hope believed in Hope, that he might become the father of many nations (Romans 4:18).
She said you need Courage to do the Impossible.
The Foreword to the book was written by Pastor (Dr) Folashade Olukoya, of the Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministries Worldwide who wrote that she has known the author for over 2 decades as a Servant Leader, a Helpmeet and a Courageous Woman with unprecedented achievements and phenomenal progress in all spheres of life.
This book is a testimoney of the Grace of God upon her life. She is a 3 term Senator.
Pastor Mrs. Mary Bolarinwa of RCCG, also wrote about the author. She commended the fact that Sen. Oluremi Tinubu ascribes everything that transpired in her life’s journey in the last 5 years to the Lord’s doing, which is marvelous in our eyes Psalms 118:23.
In the book, she revealed how unpopular the decision of her husband to go for a Mushin/Muslim ticket was.
“My being a Christian did not matter. My local Assembly – Redeemed Christian Church of God was split. I later realised that we are a church Iike other churches, with members of all political parties in attendance, I experienced this during my campaign in 2011 for the Senate, when I took campaign posters to the church and it was rebuffed. After that I never tried again. But my husband’s bid for Presidential Office was different, a bitter pill for them to chew -“Muslim/Muslim” ticket.
But I kept attending church, and I thank God I have grown from being a Baby to a matured Christian. So the little resentment I witnessed from a few, was met with the peace of God.”
“I thank my Local Assembly because, most of them made me feel welcome and comfortable enough to come to church whenever I was home from Abuja, where I was still serving as a Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District.”
“I have been a dedicated member of my local Assembly since 2007 and that would have been 15 years in attendance. Within that time, from new members class to baptismal class to workers in training, I graduated from The Redeemed Christian Bible College, also School of Disciples to becoming a Worker, then a Deaconess and later an Assistant Pastor in 2018.
All the same, despite few who showed hostility, many were encouraging, especially our Elders who would encourage me from time to time with prayers. To this end, I am grateful to God and everyone of them, especially those of them who lived to watch the Presidential Inauguration when the time came. I thank the Pastorate also for making arrangements for them.
In the book she revealed how she was betrayed by those she trusted, especially in the church.”
“After all the elections in 2023, preceding Inaugural day of May 29, 2023, some Nigerians from various spheres especially the Christians continued with the refusal in accepting the Presidential results. Despite the Victory, I felt alone, weeping behind closed doors and wondering why I was betrayed by some of those I considered friends and spiritual family, many of whom I had opened up my home and my family to. While for some, God used them to comfort and reassure me of God’s purpose in all of this.”
“For me, I believe l have done all I could and I thank God for everything. I still could not believe how God made the lines to fall unto us in pleasant places. Interestingly, many were happy, but others attacked us viciously from the pulpit, social media, print and electronic media etc.
She revealed how her husband decided to contest the 2023 presidential elections.
“After consulting with some of his political allies, he was set to give it a shot. He had mused the idea for over 14 years and this was where we arrived at a crossroad – most people I thought would support the idea because of past relationships, were not forth coming.”
“The decision now rested on him to go on or not to. A lot of consultations began. Some favourable, while others were neither here nor there. Some said no indirectly, while others would rather want to see the outcome before taking a position.”
“I realized that whatever good you do in life, it is only God who rewards you and not man.”
The book revealed a lot about this remarkable lady who is an Educator, Administrator, philantropist who has had a remarkable political career. Many don’t know that she is the first woman to be elected to the Senate in Nigeria for 3 Consecutive terms 2011-2023.
She is the Founder of various charities like The New Era Foundation and Daughters Of Zelophehad Ministries.
