How Ekiti First Lady juggles her roles

by Reporter

Ekiti First Lady, Her Excellency, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji continues to teach in the classroom. It’s amazing how Her Excellency manages to cope with the enormous task attached to teaching itself.

Having a First Lady in the classroom teaching is not common in Nigeria.

America has a history of a few former First Ladies who went back to the classroom while serving. Jill Biden, American First Lady is also back in the classroom teaching English language.

The difference is that while Jill gets paid for teaching, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji does hers as fulfilling her commitment to community service to the institution.

Meanwhile, she teaches at both Ekiti State University (EKSU), a state-owned higher institution of learning, and Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), a privately owned higher institution.

A few months ago, she was in EkSU. Today, she was in ABUAD.
