There is one young successful entrepreneur who is doing a lot to help Young people in Nigeria.
He is Prince Jide Akinyemi who has set up a Foundation to help support the youths.
He recently convened a Seminar with the Theme: Providing Orientation for Youths & Sustainable Solutions for Entrepreneurs. The event was held at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday 13th of January, 2023.
Many of those who have encountered him before describe him as a Great guy, with great ideas.
Let’s tell you more. Jide Akinyemi is the Founder and CEO of The Akinyemi Resources Group (TARG); a US government contracting company and Hyerus.com; a company aimed at helping the youth and job seekers to find new roles while helping companies find the perfect person for their open positions.
Jide was born into the family of Coach Samuel & Mrs Paulina Akinyemi, in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State Nigeria. He grew up in Akure, Ondo State where he attended St Louis Nursery and Primary School (1991-1995). He thereafter went to Federal Government College Ido-Ani, also in Ondo State where he obtained his Senior Secondary Certificate in 2001.
Akinyemi got admission into the Ekiti State University where he obtained his first Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2009. Upon completion of his university education, he went for the yearly mandatory Youth service in 2011.
In 2013, Mr. Akinyemi obtained a Master’s Degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Ibadan. He is currently running his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Psychology from George Washington University, Washington.
He is also married and blessed with three children.
Jide has worked with several organizations within and outside Africa. Some of these organizations include FERMA under the Ministry of works, where he worked with them for three years while still in school as a computer analyst. Thereafter, he worked in the Brazilian Consulate as a Consular Officer for seven years.
Mr. Akiyemi also worked with USAID on several projects when necessary and shortly after worked at Prestige Consulting as a Consultant to several mental health agencies to help facilitate smooth operations.
He also worked with McMaria Inc, NeuroPace Research Group, and Thermo Fisher Scientific where he worked as a consultant to teach young entrepreneurs how to navigate the US credit system, as a Senior Research and lead teams during site inspection, and as a Principal Researcher monitoring data on drug development.
He possesses over 15 years of experience in Private and Public Administration, Healthcare Consultancy, IT and security analytics, Investment and Money Management.
As a man of many talents, his love for reading inspired him to take up writing and is about to publish some books – Intentional, Letter to my black brothers, The Immigrant pocketbook; from 0-100 in 365 days, and Divorced before Marriage – My perspective.
The pioneer of The Block initiative is passionate about building a sustainable environment, eradicating poverty and he intends to accomplish this by organizing symposiums, alleviation programs, and empowerment programs with the motive of reorienting people to utilize their immediate resources to foster self-development.
His belief in the need to reorient the youth to acclimatize with the new economic conditions, for youth to identify their strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats to enable them to employ available technology to develop as well as leverage their competencies and stand out in this ever-changing world.
To Jide Akinyemi, The Block; meaning Building Lives through Orientation, Certainty & Knowledge was born out of the need to re-orientate the minds of Nigeria’s youth, motivating them on the need to be diligent in their dealings as this will cause them to succeed in their chosen professions.
Jide Akinyemi is a dedicated Christian who loves God, reading, public speaking, traveling, and engaging with local communities in his spare time. He is someone who should be commended, for his remarkable efforts.
