One of the VVIPs who will storm the 2019 Ojude-Oba Festival, holding next week, is the Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. Many don’t know why he has to attend. First, he has a close relationship with the Awujale of Ijebuland, who came out during the campaigns to ask all Ijebu indigenes to vote for Dapo Abiodun. He has to pay back the Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
Two, he is a member of the Egbe Bobagunte (Okunrin) Akile Ijebu, his age-grade group. Otunba (Giwa) Adesanya Yusuf, the Giwa Egbe, Trustees, Council of Chiefs & the esteemed members are preparing to play host to him on Ojude Oba Day, in commemoration of Gov. Abiodun’s swearing-in ceremony & 59th Birthday celebration.
Members address him as His Excellency, Gunte (Prince) Dapo Abiodun. And the 3rd because he is a member, of the Ijebu Heritage Group. So for him, its homecoming.
PRINCE ADE ADETONA CELEBRATES HIS WIFE
Prince Ade Adetona is the eldest son of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona. He has lived in Ijebu-Ode all his life since he came back from the UK where he schooled. He attended all the very best elite schools in the UK. Ade is a successful businessman, who is into a lot of businesses. The big news is that his wife recently clocked 50 and Ade held a big party in her honour a few days back. It was a classy party held in Ijebu Ode where she runs a private school. A lot of big boys from Lagos stormed Ijebu Ode for the party. Some even flew in from abroad.

Not many know that the Gbegande of Osofas, Oba Alatishe, is a medical doctor. We can tell you that for free. Only a few know his nickname. We can also tell you that for free. He is popularly called PAMA. What does PAMA mean? We can also authoritatively tell you the meaning.

EGBE TOBALESE OBINRIN (OBALOFIN) SET TO CELEBRATE 5TH ANNIVERSARY
Egbe Tobalese Obinrin is one of the popular age-grade groups (Regberegbe) in Ijebu Ode. It is set to celebrate its 5th Anniversary. The group came to being in 2014. The members of the group are in the age bracket of January 1971 and December 1973 from Ijebuland and either by birth or marriage.
The party will hold on Tuesday, 13th of August, 2019 on Ojude Oba Day at the Adeola Road, Ijebu-Ode immediately after the Regberegbe parade at the Pavilion, Awujale Palace Extension, Ijebu-Ode.
EGBE BOBAMAYEGUN OKUNRIN ASIWAJU AKILE IJEBU PREPARES
If there is one age-grade group in Ijebu Ode that is seriously preparing for the forthcoming Ojude Oba next week, it is Egbe Bobamayegun Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu. Their Giwa is Dipo Ogunlana. He is based in Maryland, USA. He is the leader of the Maiyegun Guys. He is a stylish guy. His colleagues describe him as the most stylish Giwa. He is the only Giwa that is a Christian. He is also the only Giwa based abroad. He is loved by so many people in Ijebu. His full name is Oladipupo Olubola Ogunlana.
ODUTOLA FAMILY REMEMBERS MATRIARCH
In Ijebu-Ode, the Odutola family is very popular. It is a big family that has produced prominent professionals who have made names for themselves in Medicine, Engineering and even business.
Recently, the family remembered their matriarch, Iya-Afin Madam Sabinah Otubajo Odutola, who died 30th June 1969. She was remembered on 30th June, 2019.
She is the mother of 2 great Ijebu men, Alhaji Jimoh Akitola Odutola and his brother Alhaji Odutola. Both have their sprawling houses on the popular Odutola Street in the Bonojo area of town in Ijebu-Ode.
Both were rich businessman in their life time. One of them had Adeola Odutola College named after him. One of them owned Adeola Odutola Tyres Retreading firm in Ibadan.
Alhaji Jimoh Odutola owned Odutola Holdings Ltd, Odutola Investments, Otubanjo Development Company Ltd, and Kuyagba Estates.
One brother painted his home White (located on one side of the road. The other brother painted his Grey. Both were not on talking terms till they died. They had a memorial service at Adeola Odutola College on Sunday 30th June, 2019. A day before Saturday, 29th June, 2019 prayers was held at Alhaji Jimoh Akitola Odutola’s residence.
EGBE BOBAMAYEGUN OBINRIN PREPARES
One of the age-grade groups preparing for the Ojude Oba in Ijebu-Ode next week is the Egbe Bobamayegun Obinrin. The group’s Iyalode is Mrs. Kuburat Adebanjo Aregbe. The group started Egbe Bobamayegun Obinrin (Aremo) Akile Ijebu on February 21 2015. It had its naming ceremony on April 30 2016,The group was named by the king of ijebuland in his palace. Members belong to the age group between January,1974 to December 1976.
The Iyalode Mrs Kuburat Adebanjo Aregbe was born on the 18th of February, 1976 to the family of Alhaji Surajudeen Adebanjo and late Chief Mrs Adedoja Ibrahim Adebanjo in Ijebu-Ode local govt in Ogun state. She started her primary school in ijebu-ode at Eti-Itale Primary School (1982-1989) and proceeded to Ijebu-Ode Muslim College between (1989-1996). She sat for the senior secondary school certificate in June 1996 and came out with an outstanding result and went to Lagos State Vocational Centre at Eredo in Epe to pursue secretariat study. Mrs Kuburat Adebanjo started her business ambition in Lagos with her elder sister at Idumota and later started her business at Ijebu-ode selling fabrics and wears for unisex. Mrs Kuburat Aregbe is a Muslim and marrie to (Engr.).Aregbesola Moshood Oluwakemi and they are blessed with beautiful children. Today, this God-fearing, honest, loving, an intelligent woman of high integrity and a goal-getter stands before you as Iyalode Egbe Bobamayegun Obirin (Aremo) Akile Ijebu.
