+The King Of MAKUN-OMI
The new Olu of Odusenlu, Oba Adeotun Oduneye, Odusanya, was presented to Awujale Oba S.K. Adetona and Council of ijebu Obas on 12th Nov., 2019. The ceremony was witnessed by Ijebu traditional rulers, family members, friends and well-wishers.
The Awujale prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of Odosenlu and advised them to give the new Olu of Odosenlu, Oba Adedotun Oduneye Odusanya, the necessary support and allow the conducive environment to growth and development of Odosenlu.
The new olu also pledged commitment to the development of the community and youth empowerment. The third Olu of the Odosenlu succeeded Oba Shafi Agbolade Sule OON, 1933-2019, who reigned for 19years. The founder of Odosenlu. Senrolu was a prince who came from Ijebu-Ode. When he was coming to find his domain named Odo-Sonrelu.He passed through Regbe who founded Odoregbe. Senrolu being a prince came along with many loads including slaves, Iwofas and Odis etc.
Senrolu met Lumafon, who informed him of the area occupied by Ome. On getting to Ome, Senrolu later discussed with people at Ome because Ome himself was no more. Senrolu settled nearby and chose his own portion of land now known as Odosenlu. Senrolu was visited by his elder brother, Awujale Oba Ogbagba, who sought his advice and decisions on many important matters from time to time.
Meanwhile, the entire indigenes of MAKUN-OMI in Ogun Waterside Area of Ogun State on Monday, 9th December, 2019 made a colourful entrance into the palace of Awujale Oba S.K. Adetona and members of Ijebu Traditional Council. The Makun Omi indigenes led by Asiwaju Otunba Tayo Ajayi and his entourage made a colourful triumphal entry into the Awujale Palace for the unique occasion of the presentation of traditional gift known as “IKARO” and royal blessing and consent of the Awujale.
The Awujale admonished Oba Salami to carry his subjects along in administering his domain for peaceful reign. The council of Ogun Waterside traditional Rulers also present the Ojutumoro of Abigi Oba J.A. Ogunye, the Alarige of Ibiade-Oba Salmon Raimi and the Elefire of Efire Oba M.A. Adeniyi welcomed the new Oba Royal Household, members of Ijebu Traditional council in attendance include Oba A.A. Adenugba Ebuwawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oloko of Ijebu-Imushin Oba Anthony Alakija, Dagburewe of Idowa Oba Y.O. Adekoya and others.
The new Osobia of Makun Alayeluwa, Oba Kassim Adesina Salami, expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful outing and also to the Awujale of Ijebuland for welcoming him into IJEBU ROYAL circle. He also expressed appreciation to Asiwaju of Makun, Otunba Tayo Ajayi and his family for support. He also thanked the entire MAKUN-OMI, religious organisation, the traditionalists and also Makun indigenes in Diaspora, who supported his Obaship status.
