The installation of Warri Business mogul, Chief Emami Ayiri as the Ologbotsere of Warri has continued to generation among the Itsekiris and it is tearing the ethnic nationality apart. Apparently irked by this development the Itsekiri national youths council (IYNC) has issued a statement that after thorough and criticalreview of all the happenings in “Our Great kingdom since the protest on the 25th of July 2017 where in Itsekiris from all works of life came out to reject with vehemence, the candidate to the prestigious Ologbotsere title. The Itsekiri national youth council, as the watchdog and conscience of the Itsekiri social system committed to the protection of the Itsekiri interest wishes to make the following proclamations.
“That our earlier position on the candidate to the prestigious Ologbotsere title is sacrosanct and there shall be no looking or turning back.
“That clandestine manipulations and or processes that accumulated to the installation of the Ologbotsere title and they fall far below all known customary and traditional requirements.
“Hence, we declare same as a huge monumental embarrassment and a very big slap on the faces of the Itsekiri people that our king was reported to be involved in this after he had severally assured critical stakeholders in our policy that he would not do same, leaves no one in doubt that a lot is fundamentally unhealthy with the kingdom as it is today.
“That if nothing is done urgently to squarely address all of those aberrations and their attendant crises Itsekiri may be heading towards anarchy “Consequent upon the afore-mentioned and in order that the
kingdom is not allowed to drift beyond where it is today, it is important that the council notify the Itsekiri people that our position has not changed and that we shall not betray the confidence reposed in us. We shall continue to press home our demands until the voice of the majority of Itsekiri is heard loud and clear”.
