Labour Party, Lagos state has debunked the news being spread on the social media that it has dumped Arc. Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour for another candidate in the Lagos state governorship holding on 18th March, 2023.
The statement signed by Chief Sam Okpala, the party’s secretary in Lagos state states:
The attention of Labour Party Lagos State has been drawn to a fake, false, mischievous and misleading press statement purportedly issued by Mr. Sam Okpala, the Secretary of Labour Party in Lagos State to the effect that one Prof. Fagbemi Awamaridi is the candidate of Labour Party Lagos State in the Gubernatorial election slated for Saturday 18th of March 2023. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
We wish to alert all Obidient family and the teeming supporters of the Labour Party Lagos State that our Governorship candidate remains Architect Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
Furthermore, there is no ruling of any court in Nigeria stating otherwise.
Labour Party wishes to let the world know that this fake news is the handiwork of our opponents who do not want to face the stark reality that their time in politics is numbered at the moment.
This devilish propaganda has shown the height of desperation on the part of our political opponents.
We wish to let the whole world know that the next Governor of Lagos State is non other than the man of the moment who the cap fits Arc.Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
