It was a sad day for many Lagos big babes on Friday, 5th of April, 2019, as Oyinlola Osikanlu, one of the popular Lagos rich celebs gave up the ghost in her prime. The ever-bubbling Oyin, as she is fondly called, is one of the most loved Lagos rich babes because of her kind and giving nature.
The mother of one, who is described by many of her friends as a cheerful giver, is survived by her son Obaoluwa Aikhionbare, the baby between her and Sam Aikhionbare, the Oil & Gas guru. Mr Aikhionbare Samuel Isowa who is currently the Head of Crude Desk of Aiteo Energy Resources Ltd. He was previously Head of Business Development at Ascot Flowlines Ltd, Head of Business Development at Oando Services Ltd, and Manager of Business Development at Resourcery Ltd. He is a non-Executive Director at Elixir Investment Partners Limited. He has over 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
Oyin Oshikanlu has been described as a woman with a large heart. According to her loved ones and people close to her, there is no amount too much for her to spend in helping other people. It was even disclosed that she spent more on the charity of late before she gave up the ghost.
The question many couldn’t help but ask is: What led to the death of Obascoberry? Was she sick? How did she die? Well, City People’s investigation revealed that Oyinlola was diagnosed with Cancer a few months ago. She was also said to have been undergoing chemotherapy at a private hospital abroad.  Some of her friends, who also spoke with City People anonymously revealed that Oyin manages her health wisely. Some of her friends also revealed that Oyin had a special corner where she kept all her drug in her house. “Oyin is not just conscious about her look, she also took care of her health.“, they revealed.
How did she die? Another close friend of her revealed to City People that she took her drugs and left for the bathroom to take a bath and that was where she slumped and died before help could come.
Many on the social scene will no forget Obascoberry in a hurry. She was one of the cool, calm Lagos rich babes many won’t stop admiring. She was until her death, the Executive Chairman (Chairperson)/CEO of her own property development and construction company, “Twin Passion Ltd”, a company she solely owned. And in a short period of the existence of the property firm, she had built and was building a large number of the property. She began in 2013 at Agungi in Lekki, with a block of well structured 22 flats of 2, 3 & 4-bedroom called Honey Ville. That Honey Ville was her first project, that she delivered to a loud ovation then for someone who was just getting into the construction and the property business. That project signposted that she was going to be a force to be reckoned with in the business. Thereafter, she moved on to build her most famous project by which she became well known in 2015. And that property is the beautiful and quite functional waterfront project by Radisson BLU hotel on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos. It is another block of well-appointed flats too, about 20 in all. As remarked above, the project was famous because of its location. In 2016, she delivered another, her 3rd project a 24-flat property on Plot 18, Palace Road, Oniru.  Â
Though Obascoberry hadn’t been in the news, but she made major headlines when she literally shut down Lagos for her son’s birthday sometimes in 2017. The very lavish first birthday party she threw for her son at Lekki Coliseum in Lekki Phase 1 was the talk of the town for many months.
Little Obaloluwa, who is 3 years now, had a first birthday party that was a fairytale. Many people were not used to seeing the first birthday celebrated on a scale as big as that.
Perhaps, you haven’t forgotten ten what this magazine wrote about the party. It was an array of rich celebrity kids at Lekki Coliseum located at providence road. Unlike the report that the party was in Abuja, it took place at Lekki Phase 1. It was also an array of over 6 Royce Rolls that pulled the horse and carriage which conveyed Obaloluwa and her mum. The entrance of the venue was befitting of a prince. Expensive champagne like crystals, VSO Hennessey and many others flow like water. No amount was spared in planning the bash.
Oyin, who would be greatly missed, had a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with specialisation in management. She graduated with first class from a South Africa University, where she worked briefly before relocating to Nigeria. While studying and living in South Africa, Oyin Oshikanlu even floated a property management company and ran it for about two and a half years. She later worked with real estate developers, selling property.
Many of her friends had been trooping to their Instagram page to share many memorable moments they shared with her as they also left touching messages on her wall.
