The first female and immediate past Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, has extended warm congratulations to elder statesman, veteran journalist, former Governor of Ogun State, and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aremo Olusegun OSOBA, on the occasion of his 87th birthday.
In a congratulatory message signed by her Media Consultant, Temitope OYEKAN, Dr. MADEIN described Aremo OSOBA as an exceptional patriot, accomplished administrator, media icon, and consummate democrat whose remarkable contributions to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria remain indelible.
She noted that throughout his distinguished career, Aremo OSOBA has consistently demonstrated uncommon courage, integrity, visionary leadership, and a steadfast commitment to public service, earning him widespread respect across political, professional, and social divides.
Dr. MADEIN paid glowing tribute to the celebrant’s illustrious career in journalism, recalling his outstanding exploits as one of Nigeria’s finest investigative journalists and his successful tenure as the former Managing Director of Daily Times Plc, where he raised the bar of professional journalism and mentored generations of media practitioners. She described his contributions to the Nigerian media industry as monumental and worthy of celebration.
The former Accountant-General further applauded Aremo OSOBA’s impactful leadership as Governor of Ogun State, saying his administration laid enduring foundations for good governance, infrastructural development, institutional reforms, and democratic consolidation in the Gateway State. She added that even after leaving office, he has remained a respected voice in national affairs, providing wise counsel and invaluable guidance on issues affecting Ogun State and Nigeria.
According to her, attaining the age of 87 while remaining mentally alert, intellectually vibrant, physically active, and deeply engaged in national discourse is nothing short of God’s abundant grace, mercy, and faithfulness.
“At 87, Aremo Osoba remains a sound, active and cerebral statesman whose wealth of experience continues to enrich governance and national development. His life is a testimony to God’s enduring grace and mercy. Ogun State and Nigeria are indeed blessed to continue benefiting from his wisdom, patriotism, and selfless service,” she stated.
Dr. MADEIN prayed that Almighty God would continue to bless the elder statesman with many more years of sound health, divine strength, peace, and fulfilment as he continues to contribute meaningfully to national discourse and to the progress and development of Ogun State and the nation at large.
She joined members of his family, friends, political associates, professional colleagues, and countless admirers, including his amiable wife, Beere Derinsola OSOBA; his loving son, Hon. Olumide OSOBA; the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON; and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed TINUBU, GCFR, in celebrating the revered elder statesman on his special day.
