A few weeks ago, The Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers of Nigeria inaugurated a new President and Executive members. It was an elaborate event held at The Podium Event Centre, Lekki.

It was indeed a new era of excellence beginning in the event industry, as a dynamic group of visionary leaders ready to elevate the industry to new heights, under the leadership of the newly elected President, Ayiri Oladunmoye. These team is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional growth within the Nigerian event space.   City People covers the event and we bring to you the story of 9 newly appointed Executive members.

 

AYIRI OLADUNMOYE

President

Ayiri Oladunmoye is the founder and CEO of Oaken Events Limited, one of Africa’s largest event companies. This pretty former banker and Cornell-certified Human Resource expert has orchestrated high-profile events including the Coronation of the Oba of Benin, Coronation of the Olu of Warri, Lagos State Governor’s Inauguration, Launch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, African Caucus amongst many others.

Since 2010, Ayiri has worked to elevate Nigeria’s event industry. She produced the country’s first Events Directory and organized its largest Events Fair. In 2015, she launched Atinuda, Africa’s largest gathering of event businesses.

Her philanthropic initiatives include the Ora Rae Hope Alive Foundation supporting underprivileged children and the African Silent Heroes Foundation honoring community impact-makers. In 2018, she was recognized  amongst the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent ( MIPAD). She holds a Sociology and Anthropology degree from the University of Benin.

 

OLAWUYI TUNDE IDRIS

Vice President:

Olawuyi Tunde Idris (Abinibi) – Creative Event Stylist & Industry Leader with over 24 years of experience in the event and entertainment industry, Olawuyi Tunde Idris (ABINIBI) is a leading creative event stylist in Nigeria. As the Creative Director of Abinibi Events Cottage and ETO by ABINIBI, he specializes in luxury event styling for multinational brands, high-net-worth individuals, and international clients.

He holds certifications from FATE Foundation, LEAP Africa, and Jeff Leatham’s floral training, among others. A recognized industry leader, he currently serves as Vice President of APPOEMN and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja GRA (2021/22). He is also a pioneer member of EMN, EIN, and other prestigious event associations.

With over 1,000 events executed, Tunde has mentored and trained over 30 successful event decorators and stylists through TESA (The Event Styling Academy). His work has earned him numerous awards and features in publications like Wedding Paparazzi, WED Magazine, City People, and The Guardian.

His signature style blends creativity and precision, making him a trusted name in the luxury event space.

 

NIKE BABAJIDE

Gen Sec

Nike Babajide (née Ayanleye) is a seasoned event planner, decorator, and 2D/3D floor plan designer. She is the Creative Director of Atmospheric Events, where she specializes in bringing event visions to life through meticulous planning and design. She is also the author of The Roadmap to Event Planning, a comprehensive guide for aspiring event planners, offering practical insights and editable templates to support their journey.

Beyond her business, Nike serves as the General Secretary of APPOEMN, contributing to the growth and professional development of the event industry. She has also played a key role in the administration of TEIC, a leading industry conference powered by APPOEMN. Nike is passionate about excellence in event execution, knowledge sharing, and industry collaboration.

 

SAKIRAT BELLO

Public Relations Director

Sakirat Bello, the Lead Creative at Fruitiedove. A an event company that is all about bringing health and vibrancy to your events. Imagine refreshing, naturally delicious fruit juices, creamy parfaits, and beautifully crafted fruit salads served at your parties.  Fruitiedove mission is to promote a balanced diet and wellness culture, one event at a time. Whether it’s weddings, corporate gatherings, or family celebrations, we make healthy living delicious and memorable.  She has over 20 years experience in media still counting. She also serve as the Marketing Manager Fresh fm Nigeria. She is an Associate Member of NIPR and ARCON. She has attended series of event professional courses and also bagged a certificate in Event Management from the Prestigious Lagos Business School.

 

Ms.OLUWADARA ILESANMI

Finance Director

Ms. Oluwadara Ilesanmi is a graduate of Pharmacology from the prestigious University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is a certified event planner and inducted as a member of the event planning association body in Nigeria called APPOEMN.

Oluwadara has gathered over 18 years experience in various capacities as event planning and management, administration, research, consulting, finance management, information technology, budgeting, corporate strategy, and customer service management. She is a PRINCE2 foundation certified project manager.

She functions as the Chief Operations Officer at Oikia Centre.  Oluwadara was the team lead for an AGDC pay-it-forward project, the class representative of the Busybee academy class amongst others.

She is a graduate of the MBA course with Tekedia institute. She was on the team that executed the The Event Industry Conference project.

She is a certified event planner and producer and her passion and drive to plan and execute excellent events and help clients communicate excellently led to the birth of Eventigo where she has successfully managed several corporate and social events. She has been elected as the Finance director for APPOEMN for which she is currently serving in that role.

 

ADEOLA SESSI

Education Director

Adeola Sessi-Traore is the CEO of Lemonytouch Events, a personalized event planning business with over 180 events executed, specializing in weddings, birthdays, and more. She is the founder of TALMAD, a charity initiative supporting underprivileged communities, and the author of Help Don’t Stress The Bride. Adeola is passionate about personal growth and has completed courses from Google Hustle Academy, Wimbiz, and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women, among others. She has served on event committees for Wimbiz, APPOEMN, and Busybee Event Summit. Adeola was nominated for the 2022 BEA Awards and holds an M.Sc in Management from the University of Lagos. She is a member of APPOEMN and Wimbiz.

 

 

OYAILO FELIX JOHN

Logistics Director

Felix Oyailo John is the creative director of FDJCONCEPT, and event planning and decoration company which heard other branches to it ,,namely fdjrentalanddecorprops. Fdjbridal wears and aso ebi and also our new born baby (fdj wholesale and retail of decor props)

His a graduate of from the lagos state university, where he studied (INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS AND PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT)and also other certification courses of business and Events management. He also learnt makeup from the prestigious house of Tara and also learnt how to make hair from Steve mick beauty Institute,

Felix is well known and luxury decorator that have decorated over 400+ events ,which include .mtn,Dana Air,Lagos state ,save the children (NGO) etc ,

Felix belong to the following Association, (Appoemn. ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL PARTY ORGANIZATIONS EVENT MANAGER OF NIGERIA, where is the current logistic director, and immediate past welfare director,he also belong the rental professional society of Nigeria,(RPSN),Association of Event Vendors (Assev)

Also the current president of ikeja exclusive lions club international a Voluntary organization

Felix loves to travel, a fashionista and a private chef.

SEGUN INANWOLE OKUNUGA

Event Director:

Segun Inanwole Okunuga, Creative Director of Inanwoleay Events, studied music at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Highly creative, goal oriented, a seasoned entrepreneur and event expert.

Three values Segun believes and practise as an entrepreneur are commitment, honesty and trust. He has a vast experience in the event industry which he had gathered for over a decade of being in the industry.

Formal trainings and series of master classes coupled with professional  experiences has helped him identify his strengths and love for what he does (event decoration, event management, event planning as well as event coordination).

Segun is a certified Member of the Association of Party Planners and Events Managers of Nigeria (APPOEMN) and honoured to be serving as the Event Director with the Newly Elected Executive of the Association.

Adebola Omofade

Adebola Adefoluke Omofade born 16th  March is a Nigerian Entrepreneur and Mathematician . She is the founder and CEO of Emerald N Gold  Events founded in march 2015

Event Planner & Coordinator:

Highly organized and creative event planner with 11 years of experience in delivering exceptional events, weddings, and conferences. Skilled in event concept development, venue selection, vendor management, and budgeting.
