Meet The Prominent Members Of OTA GRAVITY Foundation

The Ota Gravity Foundation is a non-profit, non-political organisation that is community-based, made up of the Ota Awori kingdom and its districts. It was set out to promote the general well-being of citizenry and the development of the Ota Awori kingdom and to promote, maintain and sustain the position of Ota Awori kingdom as a leading and foremost ever-progressive community in Ogun State, through the empowerment of her people, manpower training and infrastructural development.

It has 8 major Aims & Objectives, namely. (1) To assist with all possible means, the development of the Ota Community and the less privileged in the society; (2) To assist, sponsor and spearhead socio-economic physical and infrastructural development of Ota; (3) Social mobilisation of Resources (minerals and Human) for the upliftment of opportunities that are beneficial for enhancing human sustenance and growth of Ota Awori communities; (4) Engaging social groups, community leaders including traditional rulers, political office holders in participatory policy and strategy formulation in improving the social and economic well-being of its people. (5)To seek sponsorship and financial assistance to implement targeted projects and programmes tailored to address problems and challenges affecting its people (6) Promoting community-level engagement and ease of access to basic social services for the indigent and most vulnerable citizens of Otta in areas such as Education, Primary Health and Poverty Alleviation. (7) Building self-help model, entrepreneurial and local capacities as a tool of poverty reduction and promotion of social cohesion. (8) Creating a liaison platform for all Ota sons and daughters in diaspora, for social and economic contacts with their roots.

OGF was conceived by 3 seasoned professionals and friends namely: Aare Dele Bankole,  (an Oil & Gas magnate): Dr Lateef Ahmed, (An Assistant Commissioner of Police) & Mr Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

They attended Anglican Grammar School, Otta. They are all childhood friends and soul mates

The Foundation has been active in higher education support schemes for indigent students…. Supporting artisans and the most vulnerable in Ota …. COVID- 19 palliatives worth millions of Naira during the lockdowns …..

The Foundation is registered with CAC and will be appointing her officials shortly!

Board of Trustees includes: Aare Dele Bankole, Aare Okanlomo of Owu Kingdom & Otun Maiyegun of Ota Awori Kingdom; High Chief Ganiyu Dada, Oluwo Itoki of Ota Awori Kingdom; Ms Folake Noimot Abiola, a fellow of ICAN: Chief Temitayo Idowu, Otun Bobagunwa of Ota Awori Kingdom; and Hon Nurudeen Aina Akinpelu, Hon Kola Rahmon Salako, and Mr Kunle Somorin.

Below are the profiles of some members.

Asiwaju Bolaji Dada is a native of Otta and a proud Awori indigene born 53 years ago. He is a graduate of Lagos State University majoring in Biology Education with an honours degree Bsc.Ed.  A family man, a businessman with interest in Politics and writing. He presently lives in the city of Mount Prospect, state of Illinois in the United States of America.

Honourable Kola Rahmon Salako is popularly known as “Omo Ayo”. He was born into the great family of the Salakos in Ota Ogun State. He holds a Bachelor of Agriculture (B.Agric) from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. In his quest for further studies, in 2006, he bagged a diploma in cooperative and Business Management from the Ogun State Cooperative College Abeokuta. In the same year, he was a student at the Centre for Transport Studies of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. In 2011, Honourable Kola Salako bagged an Advance Diploma in Human Resources Management from the prestigious University of Lagos. Hon. Kola Salako is a professional member of the International Association of Public Transport, African Association of Public Transport and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). Some of the workshops and seminars he has attended in the past include the UITP/World Bank Integrated Mobility planning workshop in Lagos.

Her Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr Noimot Salako Oyedele was born in 1967 to the illustrious Salko family of Ota. Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele is a multi-talented professional with over 30 years of proven records of experience in Consulting, Contracting and Real Estate Sectors. As a team leader, strategist and astute manager of resources, she has been on the Board of several companies in Nigeria and the United Kingdom and currently the Deputy  Governor of Ogun State. Engr Noimot holds a Masters degree in Public Health Engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology London, UK, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos. She is happily married and blessed with children.

Lawal Adewale Wasiu (FCA) is the former Chairman, Transition Committee,  Ado-Odo/Otta LG.

Temitayo Idowu is a seasoned Engineer and an ICT consultant of over 29 years of relevant working experience. He is currently the ICT Delivery Director, Customer Unit West Africa and Morocco with LM  Ericsson Nigeria. Having worked with most of the Telecom Providers including Huawei Technologies and Globacom in the Operators scope. He holds an M.Sc in Engineering from Coventry University UK and various IT certifications.

Hon. Nurudeen Akinpelu Aina Esq. LL.B (Hons), B.L, AICMC (a.k.a Legacy) was born into the renowned, revered and cultured Aina-Alakanse Family by Late Alfa Yesuf Aina-Alakanse (a.k.a Olorunosebi) of Irawa Compound, Osi-Ota and Late Chief (Mrs.) Afusat Ajoke Giwa-Aina, the Osi-Iya Sunnah, Mabaodu Mosque, Ota who hailed from Igboledu/Ijaganna Compound, Mabaodu, Osi-Ota. He is the only son and the last born of the family with three senior sisters. He is married to Hajia Aminat Morenikeji Abake, a trained teacher by profession and presently a businesswoman. She is the Managing Director of 16-16 Ventures Nig. Ltd and Heritage Farms, a subsidiary of Gigabyte Resources.

Prince ‘Ganiu Adewale Adegbite is the Dean of the School of Business and Management Studies. He is a consummate academic with tested cum vast experience in education administration. Prince has so many contributions to knowledge with various articles and textbooks. He is from Ijemo/Isolosi royal family, a lineage of Oba Akinsewa of Isolosi, Osi-Ota. He is an excellent researcher whose scholarship prowess cannot be underestimated. His academic sojourn took him through all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria. His dissertation for Doctor of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University is near completion, Prince Adegbite possesses a managerial acumen in dealing with people from all walks of life, even to nurturing potentials to worthy achievers. Again, he finds solace in making people around him happy and always contributing to social, traditional and human developments in his immediate environment and beyond. Afolake Abiola hold a B.sc, FCA. Afolake Abiola is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a 1998 graduate of Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, with broad skill sets in the area of audit, Financial reporting, advisory, budgeting, Strategy, control and project financing. She has over 20 years of hands-on experience in diverse sectors and multi-cultural work environments which includes audit practice, manufacturing and Telecoms. She served as a Member of the Finance Transition Committee of the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun in April 2019. Currently, she manages the Budgeting and Financial Control unit of Globacom Limited.

Abiodun Adeniran Aladikun (FCA, FCS, FICA) is a Forensic Accountant, Dealing Clerk of NGX Limited, and Investment Banker of repute, with over 20 years cumulative experience across the financial services sector. A GRC expert with diversified competencies, he is currently the Group Coordinator, Operations and Risk Management at Vetiva Capital Management Group, and Executive Director in Vetiva Securities Limited (a subsidiary of the Vetiva Group).

Kunle Somorin is a communications personality. A reporter, writer, researcher, public intellectual and perception manager. He is currently the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR.  Prior to his appointment by Governor Dapo Abiodun, Somorin was the Editor-in-Chief at Africa’s premier Presidential Library – the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta. He at different times, has been Editorial Director, Leadership Newspapers, Abuja; Director-General, Public Communications in Niger State under Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu; Special Assistant on Media to the then Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives among other top profile appointments.  Somorin has had the privilege to work as a Consultant with the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the Measurement and Evaluation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) at different times. For instance, he was part of a team responsible for the review and implementation.

Rasaki Ayinla Obasanya was born and brought up in Lagos, his parents hail from Ota, father is from Ago Ilogbo in Oruba Quarters. Graduated from the University of Ilorin (Bsc Economics), had an MBA degree at Lagos State University, member of the Certified Institute of Transport and Logistics. He is currently working with a multinational shipping company. He has served in full capacity for 20 years with 4 different multinational organisations. He has a wealth of experience in import, export logistics and transport management.

Mr. Rotimi Balogun is the Co-founder and CEO of Boston Advisory Limited, an SEC licensed investment banking firm based in Ikoyi, Lagos. With over three decades of experience, spanning across nine banks, including UBA and Ecobank, he has acquired a unique blend of skills in investment banking, structured finance and financial advisory, with considerable experience in sourcing, structuring and execution of complex financial transactions. Between 2016 and 2019, he served as the Global Coordinator of the Lagos State Embedded Power Programme. Mr. Balogun holds a master degree in Economics from the University of Lagos and has attended several executive management and leadership programs in leading educational institutions.

Aare Dele Bankole possesses proven expertise in Brand Marketing & Communication, Sales/Demand Management, Business Development, Logistics, Oil Trading and Product Procurement; Terminal Operations and Downstream Business honed in several organizations including, Lintas Lagos; Wonderfoods Nigeria Limited (PROMASIDOR); CONOIL PLC; Overage Energy Ltd; IBILE Oil &  Gas Corporation (Lagos State Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources) and Mike Adenuga Group, where he retired as a Director of Strategy and Adviser to the Board.  He is an Alumnus of the prestigious Oxford Princeton, UK, where he earned a certification in Oil & Middle Distillate Trading. He is currently a Principal Partner at Overage Platforms, a Downstream Oil & Advisory firm operating out of  UAE, Nigeria & UK. He’s a Commissioner at Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission.

Let’s tell you about High Chief (Mrs.) Abimbola Basirat Dada.

Alhaja Abimbola Basirat Dada was born to the prestigious family of the Dada Ogejo of Otta, Awori Kingdom, a successful businesswoman and a socialite of the finest breed, Alhaja Abimbola Basirat Dada is cut from the same cloth with her late father, who bestrode the social circle like a colossus between the seventies and the eighties in the Southwest.  Alhaja Abimbola has a well-rounded education. She started at Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School in Ebute Metta. Alhaja Abimbola had her Secondary School education at Anwar ul Islam Girls’ High School, Ojokoro, Agege where she sat for the West African Examination Council, WAEC exam after which she proceeded for higher learning.  The Young Abimbola immediately left the shores of Nigeria for the United Kingdom for her A/level at Hackney College.   She proceeded to the prestigious Clapham College of Journalism, London, where she obtained the Higher National Diploma, HND in 1984.
