NBTI partners Navigation 360 Foundation to deepen grassroots engagement

by Reporter

In a strategic effort to expand the reach of its technology incubation initiatives, the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) has teamed up with the Navigation 360 Foundation to improve grassroots awareness and participation.

During a recent courtesy visit to the NBTI Headquarters, the National President of Navigation 360 Foundation, Alhaja Olabisi Eletu, emphasised the urgent need to bridge the communication gap between government agencies and local communities. She noted that many Nigerians at the grassroots remain unaware of the services and impact of many government institutions. The Foundation aims to leverage its nationwide presence across all 774 local government areas to amplify NBTI’s visibility and impact at the grassroots level.

“Our mission is to showcase the good work NBTI is doing by cascading it to the grassroots,” Alhaja Eletu stated.

In response, NBTI’s Director General and CEO, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, welcomed the collaboration and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to grassroots development through the expansion of Technology Incubation Centres across the country. He highlighted the alignment of this initiative with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritises economic inclusion, poverty reduction, and wealth creation.

Dr. Raji referenced success stories such as a female entrepreneur, formerly illiterate, who now generates over N1.2 billion in annual revenue after incubation support from NBTI — a testament to the agency’s transformative impact. He emphasized that with Nigeria’s population exceeding 237 million, locally made products have a significant domestic and continental market.

The DG also called for legislative backing for Executive Orders 003 and 005 to institutionalise the patronage of locally produced goods, strengthen the local economy, reduce capital flight, and boost Nigeria’s export potential.

Dr. Raji commended President Tinubu’s infrastructural strides, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Badagry-Sokoto Highway projects, describing him as a “welfarist leader committed to national prosperity.”

This partnership is expected to enhance grassroots access to technology incubation, drive local enterprise development, and promote inclusive economic growth.
