The 16th edition of Honours Nite, organised by the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Lagos State Branch, was a resounding success, bringing together industry leaders to celebrate excellence, innovation, and impact within Nigeria’s real estate and valuation sectors.
Held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the prestigious Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, the black-tie event was themed “Inspiring Excellence, Shaping the Future.” It lived up to its billing with a rich display of prestige, glamour, and professional camaraderie.
The evening was graced by notable dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Works, Dr. Adekunle Olayinka FNSE. The national leadership of the Institution was also ably represented, with ESV Victor Adekunle Alonge, President of NIESV, represented by the First Vice Chairman, ESV Bature Ali Mohammed.
Chairman of the occasion, ESV (Sir) Dipo Onabanjo, delivered thought-provoking remarks that set the tone for the evening. In attendance were also traditional rulers of high repute—Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and HRM Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iruland, whose presence underscored the critical role estate surveyors and valuers play in national development.

A captivating performance by Precious the Magician mesmerised the audience, providing moments of wonder and entertainment that added a magical touch to the night.
Adding further excitement, fast-rising Nigerian airline Value Jet held a special raffle draw to celebrate its latest achievement—a new direct flight route to Banjul, The Gambia. The lucky winner received an all-expense-paid return ticket with hotel accommodation included—a gesture that was met with loud cheers and applause.
