Saturday, 4th April 2026, was a day to remember in Anambra State as 27-year-old Federal House of Representatives member, Engr. Akarachi Etinosa Amadi, representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency under the APC, sealed the deal with Abuja-based Barrister Adaobi Alagwu in a dazzling traditional marriage ceremony.
The event, attended by Nigeria’s political and social elite—including Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma and his wife—was more than a wedding; it was a public declaration of influence, wealth, and a new chapter for both families.
Engr. Amadi, born on 24th November 1994, from Eziama town, Ikeduru LGA of Imo State, is widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s youngest lawmakers. He rose to national attention in 2023 when he won a fiercely contested election against Labour Party candidate and comedian-turned-politician Honourable Uche Ogbuagu, who had previously served in both the Imo State House of Assembly and the Federal House of Representatives. Despite Ogbuagu’s popularity, Amadi emerged victorious, and since then, he has championed youth-focused initiatives, infrastructure, and constituency development projects that have made him a standout figure in the 10th National Assembly.
A trained Chemical Engineering graduate from Covenant University, Engr. Amadi is also a multi-billionaire businessman, the son of High Chief Charles Chukwuemeka Amadi, popularly known as Charlvon. At 67, his father, High Chief Amadi, commands business interests spanning Oil and Gas, Construction, Real Estate, and political influence in Imo State. He played a pivotal role in electing Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as Governor, unseating Hon. Emeka Ihedioha via a Supreme Court ruling. Engr. Amadi’s mother, a Delta State-born woman, helped transform the family enterprise into a thriving conglomerate, with the company name Charlvon Nig. Limited is derived from “Charles” and “Yvonne.”
The marriage also closes a controversial chapter for Barrister Adaobi Alagwu, previously involved with former Skye Bank chairman Tunde Ayeni.
Just a day before his wedding, Engr. Amadi launched a 10 billion naira Empowerment Scheme for his constituency at his father’s sprawling Eziama estate. The estate features a mechanised farm settlement with a private zoo and a pavilion capable of seating over two million guests, reflecting the unique blend of enterprise, wealth, and community development that the Amadi family represents. His oil and gas operations, headquartered in Port Harcourt and Warri, Delta State, distribute petroleum products across Nigeria, further cementing his status as a young billionaire and influencer.
In the National Assembly, Engr. Amadi has sponsored more than 30 bills focused on youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure. His initiatives include free JAMB registration programs, solar street lighting under the project “Operation Light Up Mbaike,” scholarships, and constituency welfare schemes. The young lawmaker’s story blends political acumen, family wealth, legislative achievements, and now a high-profile marriage—marking him as a rising figure in Nigeria’s political and social landscape.
