Former Chief of Staff to the Imo State governor and a contender to the state governorship ticket under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has said that no amount of threat from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party will sway him to abandon his legitimate rights and pursue a genuine cause.
Nwosu’s position followed the threat handed to aggrieved members of the party to withdraw their Court actions or face sanctions.
The APC NWC had threatened to invoke sanctions on all members who took the party to Court over the fallout of the just concluded primaries, unless they withdrew the suits.
Nwosu, who is in court over the party’s governorship ticket in Imo State, described the threat by the National Working Committee of the party as an act of arm-twisting and unacceptable.
Nwosu who is acclaimed to have won the October 6 APC rerun governorship primary in Imo State, insisted that the threat of sanction will not stop him from pursuing his case to a logical conclusion and reclaiming his mandate.
While expressing dismay over the position of the party, Nwosu stated that he had first of all made concerted efforts to have the leadership of the party resolve the crisis using internal mechanisms to no avail before going to court.
