A few days ago, the Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) received executive members of Ikeja Club.
The President of the social club, Chief Ayodeji Randle who led other vibrant executive members to the Palace of Olota commended His Majesty for his symbolic leadership and unrelenting efforts in uniting the Aworis.
The President conveyed the decision of the Executive Committee of the club to Olofin Apesin Olode as the Royal Father of the Day at its forthcoming 56th Anniversary and induction of new members scheduled to hold on Friday, 26th August, 2022.
In response, Kabiyesi thanked the delegation for their love and the compliments. He assured the team of his continous support and his Royal presence at the forthcoming event.
Kabiyesi prayed for the entire members of the club to become more successful in their various fields.
It may interest you to know that Ikeja, which was formally called ” Akeja “, was named after a deity of the Awori people of Otta. Early in the 20th century, it became an agricultural hinterland for Lagos. Ikeja is today the seat of power and commercial nerve center of Lagos state.
