Subject: Open Letter Of Request for Written Confirmation of Emirian Approval and Proposed Appointment
Dear Chief Historian,
I write to formally request written confirmation and supporting documentation concerning the proposed appointment of myself, H.H. Sarki El Amir-Amir Omar El Ali, to the position of Sarkin Hausawan North America / Hausa Emir of North America.
During our previous WhatsApp discussions, you expressly informed me that the Emir of Daura had approved my proposed appointment.
When I specifically asked whether the Emir had approved the appointment, you responded:
“Yes, of course, but only when traditional processes are followed.”
You further clarified that the proposed position was not merely a traditional title, stating:
“No, no, yours is not a title; it’s an Emirship.”
You subsequently described the proposed position as:
“Hausa Emir of North America with full authority.”
In view of these clear representations, I am respectfully requesting a copy of the written approval, authorisation, appointment letter, resolution, or any other official documentation evidencing and confirming that the Emir of Daura has approved my proposed appointment.
If such approval has indeed been granted, I respectfully request that the documentation clearly state the nature and status of the appointment, including any conditions, requirements or traditional processes that must be fulfilled before the appointment can be formally concluded.
REQUEST FOR OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION
For the avoidance of doubt, I respectfully request written clarification on the following matters:
- Whether the Emir of Daura has formally approved my proposed appointment.
- The date on which the approval was granted.
- Whether the approval was communicated verbally, in writing, or through any other official channel.
- Whether an official appointment letter has been authorised, prepared or issued.
- The specific traditional processes or requirements, if any, that remain outstanding before the appointment can be formally concluded.
- Whether completion of those processes will result in the issuance of an official appointment letter or other formal instrument of appointment.
- Whether any official document exists setting out the authority, responsibilities, jurisdiction, status and traditional functions associated with the proposed position of Sarkin Hausawan North America / Hausa Emir of North America.
RESPECT FOR THE DAURA EMIRATE
I wish to make it expressly clear that this request is made with the utmost respect for the Emir of Daura, the Daura Emirate, the Emirate Council and the traditional institution as a whole.
My intention is not to question or undermine the authority of the Emir or the Emirate, nor is this request intended to cause any disrespect to the institution or its representatives.
Rather, having been expressly informed that the Emir of Daura has approved my proposed appointment, I believe it is both reasonable and appropriate to request formal documentation confirming the status of that approval.
Such documentation is particularly important given the nature of the proposed position, which you yourself described as an “Emirship” and as “Hausa Emir of North America with full authority.”
I therefore respectfully request that the relevant written approval, authorisation, or appointment documentation, together with the requested clarification, be provided to me so that I may have a clear understanding of the official status of the proposed appointment and properly proceed with any outstanding traditional requirements.
I would appreciate receiving a formal written response to this request, including copies of any relevant official documentation.
I remain respectful of the traditional processes of the Daura Emirate and look forward to receiving the necessary clarification.
