Ondo state born, Joy Abiye on Saturday defeated all other contestant to emerge champions of the 8th Women Run in Lagos.
Abiye defeated thousands of runners to cart home N1.5m price money with a time of 39:13:78secs.
Speaking after winning her race, the 2021 winner said that personal training and supports from Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has helped her grow in the game.
She expressed happiness and lauded the organisers for a successful race and a platform for her to showcase her talent and strength, while promising to come out victorious in the next edition.
According to her, the NSCDC has been helpful in her career growth and she is very grateful to them.
Deborah Pam came second in 39.22.73 seconds and received a N500,000 cash prize, while Patience Dalyop claimed the third position with 40.02.08 seconds, and received N300,000 cash reward.
