Tells City People Why
It is no longer news that the Real estate business is one of the businesses that is booming in Nigeria right now, as more and more people are venturing into it. Buying and selling properties for different reasons, such as the financial reward attached to it, and also the satisfaction they get to derive from managing people’s property.
But what is news now is that popular Actor Tayo Amokade otherwise known as Ijebu has also joined the league of Big boys rocking real Estate Business. He has floated his own Real Estate Company in his home town, Called IJB Homes and properties. As we speak Ijebu has acquired many acres of land in his town. He is helping many of his fans buying lands and supervising their ongoing projects because of the trust they have in him.
Few weeks ago, City People Magazine team led by SUNDAY ADIGUN drove down to Ilishan on a courtesy visit when we got the news and we can authoritatively tell you that the actor turned realtor means business big time. He showed us many of the virgin land he had already acquired. He showed us the ongoing projects being constructed and supervised by IJB Homes and Property. He also told us why he started the real Estate business. Enjoy the conversation.
Let me start by congratulating and welcome you back from your trip.
Thank you so much my brother.
Ijebu is popular as a successful Actor, why are going into Real Estate business?
My intention is very pure and straight forward. It’s to satisfy many of my fans home and abroad. Those whose friends and family have shown Shege. I heard lots of complaints when I travelled out. Many people have been duped. People will send different pictures of sites to them believing that is the properties they’ve been sending money for.
How do you now plan to assist them?
Many of them believe being a celebrity you are popular and it will be very easy for them to trace you and drag you out on social media as well(laughs). But in my own case I actually started this Company with the thought of fans in diaspora. Like I said, many of them have lost their trust in most Nigerians, but because of the level of trust and love they have in me. I have influenced for many of them representing their brands. So, I intend on using it as an opportunity to assist them in acquiring and building properties of their choice here in Nigeria. I also want to use that opportunity to contribute positively to my town. I want to open up Ilishan for many opportunities. We have many virgin lands here. I have introduced to many people. As a matter of fact, all this land has already been bought.
So, let’s talk about IJB HOMES and Property?
At IJB Homes and Properties, Our Motto signifies trust and that is what we deliver to our customers. The major goal of our company is to help you in buying land, if you haven’t gotten any before, supervise the construction of the building and send you feedback on the work taking place on your site. We ensure that every land we purchase for a customer is authentic and free from every future threat. There is no Omo online here. Many of them know me as a son of the soil. So with IJB HOMES and Property you don’t have any problem at all, you are covered.
We can see many workers working here already, is there any project you are working on?
Currently we have a land of our own here in Ilishan that we are building which is going to serve as our headquarters and also a proof of our work and services to our customers. As you can see work is already going on. This is our own office. An adage says “eni to ba ma daso funni ti orun e la ma Koko wo”.
You have passion for business, what really informs that?
With the situation of this country one must think outside the box. I’ve been involved in several businesses apart from acting. You will recollect that I just floated an herbal drink as well. I will say I got that from my parents.
Tell us about your early years in acting, what were the challenges?
The early years were rough and tough. Starting as a generator repairer and gradually getting to where I am today has been by God’s grace and my passion for the craft. My passion keeps me going. I am an actor and a comedian. I anchor events too. I am always happy putting smiles on people’s faces. I usually try to make the next task more entertaining than the previous one.
How do you take controversies in your industry?
The question is, can one really avoid controversy? Even if one tries hard to stay away, it would somehow navigate to one. That is one big disadvantage of social media. I just always try my best to distance myself from any drama.
