It was a busy day on Thursday March, 21, 2024, for Prophet Bisi Olujobi and other members of the Federation of Concerned Prophets of Nigeria which consists largely of senior prophets. Led by their president, Prophet Bisi Olujobi, they staged a massive protest in front of the Lagos state House of Assembly to demand that President Tinubu puts an end to the economic hardship and suffering of the masses.
Interestingly, this will come as a huge surprise tp many that have been following the exploits of Prophet Bisi Olujobi, the General Overseer of Wisdom Church International headquartered in Ketu. He has been one of the prophets who stood solidly behind Asiwaju, offering him spiritual support and prayers long before he emerged President of the federal republic of Nigeria. But, why is he now angry with the president to the point of staging a protest walk against him?
Hear the very vocal and patriotic man of God: “I began to get really worried when I saw the way things are going. The prices of all food commodities have gone up. Fuel has gone up. The people are suffering, the people are hungry. I am one of those who supported the president with fasting and prayers even before he became president and after he became president. But now that things have turned out this way, I have to make my displeasure and that of other prophets and ordinary Nigerians known.”
The protest began around 10.15 am with Prophet Bisi Olujobi leading the league of Concerned Prophets such as Prophet (Dr.) Jeremiah Adedigba, Prophet Ayeobasan Segun, Akeem Sowemimo and other young men and women.
There were placards with inscriptions such as “Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering, don’t wait till crisis erupts,” and “Tinubu, allow importation of cement to shame Dangote monopoly.” They also had others like “Tinubu, open our borders and end hardship,” and “Tinubu, we are hungry,” among several others.
About an hour after, a powerful delegation representing Speaker of the House of Assembly led by Hon. Kayode Ogundipe, the Lawmaker representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency 1 emerged from Assembly. They listened to the agitations of the group through its president, Prophet Bisi Olujobi and the secretary, Prince Bayo Adegboyega and assured that their message will not only be delivered to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, but it will also be discussed on the floor of the House. He assured everyone that the President feels their pains and understands what they are going through but the government needs to take the very difficult route it is taking so that all Nigerians can smile at the end of the day. He also enjoined the group and indeed all other prophets to continue to support the president in prayers so that the country will find light at the end of the tunnel in the not so distant future.
The group handed over to the Hon. Ogundipe and his colleagues the documented demands of the group and presented to them the necessary documents to sign.
The president of the group, Prophet Bisi Olujobi thanked the delegation but assured them that if, after giving the president more time to make things work and they find that nothing has changed, they will reconvene again and stage the mother of all protests against the government. And they will start by praying massively against the president if push comes to shove.
