The old students of the prestigious Remo Secondary School (RSS), Sagamu, held the maiden edition of its leadership workshop on July 15th, 2022. Remo Secondary School (RSS), Sagamu, was founded on the 4th of February 1946, by the Anglican  Methodist missionary.

Group Managing Director, Adron Homes, and Properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuel King, who is the current President of the association, and other executive members of the association commissioned the RSSOSA National Secretariat named after the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi on the same day. The beautifully renovated secretariat was the venue for the RSSOSA maiden leadership workshop, where all executives and invited guests were seated for the grand event.

Aare Adetola Emmanuel King was accompanied by his team of administrators; Prof. Abayomi Ariganju, Prof Adeleke Oduwole and Otunba Tunji Solarin Lawal, who were also facilitators for the leadership symposium.

Speaking to the agile leader of RSSOSA, Aare Adetola stated that the aim of the leadership workshop is to foster and strengthen the school and to unite all the old students so that they can deliberate together about the growth of their alma mater.

Aare stated that within 30 days of their inauguration, they raised N35M and that was what they started the renovation with. The exco’s target is N100M against their 100 days in office with the intent to induct the outgoing set into their association for assistance in achieving their future aspiration through the old student body.

Acting on the slogan of the new exco “let’s make RSS great again”, they have planned to plant 200 trees within their 100 days in office as well as solar power the whole school environment within the same time frame.

This maiden edition of the RSSOSA leadership workshop was strictly by invitation and the virtual invite was for all members of the association at home and in the diaspora to participate.

In attendance were Past Presidents of the RSS, HIs Imperial Majesty Akarigbo, ably supported by many Obas from Remoland, Barr. (Mrs.) Osunde, who is an Executive Director in Adron and also an ex-student. And many too numerous to mention.

The building that was built originally by Akarigbo was renamed after the Paramount Ruler and commissioned by the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Professor Abayomi Arigbabuwo.
