Angela, who recently died in London, at the age of 47, was finally laid to rest last week Tuesday 22 February 2022. She is survived by her husband, two lovely boys and four siblings. It was a befitting burial for Angela’s personality and status. Angela in her lifetime was a woman of many parts. She was well-loved and adored by many. Little wonder why her burial was a well attended one. It was a convergence of who-is-who in the society as family, friends and associates gathered in the ancient city to pay their last respect to Angela Folarin, the Yeye Ayingun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
There was a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ilupeju, Bodija, Ibadan. Before her remains was thereafter intered at a private cemetery at Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State. In his tribute, Folarin didn’t only describe his late wife as the best of the good but also stated that he wished her death was one of her many pranks, feeling she would suddenly call him to say it was all joke. In his words: “I am still in a state of shock and disbelief but who am I to question Allah, who knows all and owns all.”
“I wish this was just one of your many pranks. Wishing you would suddenly call me to say it was all joke.”
“Angie. Having you in my life was my dream come true, all I ever desired. Words cannot describe the emptiness I have felt since you left me and our boys alone in this sinful world but I take comfort in the belief that we shall again reunite in aljana.” “I miss a million things in you: Your mind, body, advice, encouragement, calls, your meals! I miss everything about you. I forever will.” “We had dreams we prayed to achieve together. I promise not to let go of those dreams. I shall achieve them for you and our boys.” “They say only the good die in their prime. You were certainly the best of the good.” “Good night my darling wife, most loyal friend, co-strategist, pillar of support and caring mother. Your love, Oloye.” Angela, born on 23 July 1974, at the Military Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, was a lawyer, a seasoned administrator and public affairs commentator.
