Infact, it is quite impossible to discuss Philanthropy in Nigeria today without mentioning the name of Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, CON, KJW, FISM. Infact, he is easily the biggest. It is for this reason that CityPeople picked him as the CityPeople Man Of The Year, for all he did in 2023. Not only did he touch lives, he put smiles on the faces of many members of social club across Nigeria. If you go to many of the social clubs in Lagos, he has helped them tremendously. He is among the Top 3 philanthropists in the country. Both at the private and institutional levels, Sir Adebutu’s benevolence, contribution to the development of human capital, meeting medical needs as well as advancement of educational standard have been very remarkable. What really makes Sir Adebutu to stand-tall-head-and-shoulders among contemporaries is his kind-hearted disposition.

His philanthropic trait started manifesting quite early, making him to be quick at sharing the little he had with his friends and close associates. (3) Two well-furnished houses for the Bishops of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Remo and Remo Central Diocese respectively. (4) Two blocks of 8 fully furnished classrooms for Wesley Nursery & Primary School, Iperu Remo (His Alma Mater) (5) An ultra-modern Mosque built at Iperu Remo (Kajola Mosque) (6) An Administrative complex for the Gateway ICT Polytechnic Saapade Remo-Land. (7) An Ultra-modern fully’Air-Conditioned Church for Methodist Church Nigeria,lbu Road, Iperu Remo. (8) Faculty of Law building at Houdegbe North American University, Benin Republic. (9) A Secretariat complex for the Radio, Television & Theatre Workers Union (RAn AWU), Abuja. (10) Financial contribution to Olabisi Onabanjo University towards the Development of the Faculty of Law. (11) Two blocks of 1 8 fully furnished classrooms at Gaskiya College,ljora; Badia Lagos. (12) The Prelate house Methodist Church Nigeria Sagamu. (13) library complex for Crescent University, Abeokuta in Honor of His Mother; Late Alhaja Seliat Olasimbo Adebutu. (14)  A Vocational and Technical Laboratory Complex at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode. (15) Laboratory Complex for the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta (MAPOLY). (16) A Ctub House for Remo Club 1937. (17) An utro-modem Secretariat for the Nigeria Union of Teachers at 72A, Cardoso Street, Aiegunle, Lagos State. (18) A Vocational and Skills Development Centre to train aspiring youths in areas of Carpentry, Plumbing, Bricklaying and electrical engineering at 16 Allen Street, Surulere (19) A fully furnished high-tech Maternity Centre at the University of Logos. (20) An Ultra-modern Laboratory Complex at Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu. (21) An Olympic Size swimming pool for St. Saviours School Railway Compound, Ebute Metta, Lagos. (22) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Trauma and Emergency centre at Babcock University College of Medicine lIIishan- Remo, Ikenne LGA. (23) An Ultra-modern Radio Station for the Lagos State University (LASU), (24) An Ultra-modern Radio Station for Olabisi Onobanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (25) An Ultra-modern and fully furnished geriatric rehabilitation facility at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. (26) An Auditorium in University of Ibadan – Deportment of Human Nutrition Auditorium. (27) A library at Biblical and Theological Training, Southwest Advance School of Theology, Ogere Road, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State. (28) A block of well-furnished 4 classrooms with 2 staff rooms each at Wesley Primary School and Christy Church School, Ogere Remo. (29) Kesington Adebutu Eye Clinic donated to Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital Sagamu (ongoing). (30) Sir, Kesington Adebutu Legacy Hall donated to Abeokuta Sports Club, Abeokuta. (31) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) Research library under construction at Logos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) (32) Ultra Modern Odua Hall under construction at the Yoruba Source lie Ife. (33) Donation of Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Hall to the National Open University at lIoro Study Centre, Ogun State, etc.
