On a fateful day, the Tabitha New Life Foundation organized an event to promote humanitarian services. The aim was to educate, liberate, and empower widows in the Ifesowapo community of Mowe, Ogun State. The event was facilitated by Mr. Soji Adeyehun and held at the Ifesowapo Community Town Hall, Divine Favour Street, Ifesowapo Road. The main objective of the event was to equip the widows with skills that would enable them to contribute to the development of their environment and Ogun State. The focus was on providing economic independence to the widows, given the responsibilities that rest on them.
During the counselling section, the emotional and psychological torture experienced by widows due to the loss of their spouses was addressed to ease any fears or anxieties they may have had. This exercise brought great relief to the widows, particularly in helping them to move on from the pain and grief of their loss.
As usual, the team, that is, Tabitha New Life Foundation, comprises trained professionals and experts in different fields to impact full teaching, counselling, and training that guarantee lasting effects.
The instructor, in the person of Mrs. Adenike Faderera Olaniyan, CEO, of Cecehannie Ventures who is an expert in various chemically manufactured products like Soap, powder, Balm, etc was on the ground teaching the widows in the process of making Soap, Talcum powder, Mentholated powder, Balm. The section was indeed an essential aspect of the event that lasted 5 hours with full concentration marked with various questions and answers for understanding.
In her address, the President and Convener of the foundation, Ambassador Adunke Olatunji charged the widows to face the realities of life and rise to every challenge as they remain the breadwinners of their families. She stressed further, gone are the days when women took the back benches but these days, what you know will set you free, and, do not settle for less as there are lots women can do to liberate themselves or the gender from playing the second fiddle.
Also, a team of volunteers essentially assisting the progress and development of the foundation was on the ground amongst were, Mrs Tola Afolayan, Mrs. Ogunwale, Mrs. Tope Fadiya, Mrs. Omodele Fadare, Miss Toluwani Oladeji.
The members of the community development association could not hide their joy and the expression of excitement on their faces as they acknowledged the rare privilege of bringing such a program to their steps. The facilitator and chairman of Ifesowapo Area CDA, Mr. Soji Adeyehun, and the Chairman, Itesiwaju Omu – Arogun Omu-Arogun Area CDC, Pst. Yemi Adebisi expressed their appreciation and wishes for Tabitha New Life Foundation taking the initiative to global spaces.
