• How He Became A BIG Celebrity Online

Lately, Bobrisky has been in the news. The other day, his 28th birthday was cancelled by the Police. If the birthday party had taken place, a lot of celebrities would have stormed the event as he had invited very many showbiz stars and they had promoted his birthday on their pages online. For many who don’t really know Bobrisky too well, lets quickly tell you that he is the male barbie of Snapchat in the Nigeria sphere. He is also one of the most popular celebrities on social media.

His real name is Idris Okunneye Olanrewaju. He was born in Ebute Metta, Lagos in 1992. He attended King’s College and graduated from the University of Lagos. He grew up in an ordinary average polygamous family. His father is married to 3 wives and Bobrisky is the youngest child. He started fending for himself when he turned 16 and as a child, his mother repeatedly beat him for his feminine traits. He was once a choreographer, taught people how to dance and earned money while still in the university.

He also attended different dance events. He capitalised on his sense of fashion and got involved in buying and selling of clothes. He would apply makeup in his years in the university and wear women’s attire and deceive men in clubs and bars. He received the title of the best-dressed male at his faculty in the University of Lagos and soon became the star of the campus. Part of his business strategy was to dress unusually to attract mostly female customers to his store.

Prior to his complexion transformation, the Snapchat celebrity’s skin colour was dark until he suddenly turned snow-white, all thanks to his bleaching cream expertise, which he claims was a business strategy. This immediately shot him to limelight through social media and he gained both admirers and haters at the same time.

Bobrisky is from Ogun State, but stays presently in Lekki and rolls with celebrities in the society. He deals in whitening cream and plans to be a big competitor of Dencia Whitenicious. He cares less about the rumour of his sexuality or even wastes time firing back at critics. According to him, as far, as he is making his millions and also helping people, paying his tithes to the Lord, he does not give a damn about what haters feel.

Though people believe he is Gay as he continues to mention his mysterious boyfriend who has been his sponsor, and his fans are always curious to find out who the bae is. He claims the bae likes how he calls him his Africa’s fourth-richest man, and also reportedly gave him 7 million nairas and a Benz.

The yet to be identified bae also plans to get Bobrisky a house next to Linda Ikeji at Banana Island. He is well known as a fashionista, who likes to chat dirty and post unusual things on social media.

Take it or leave it, Bobrisky dines and wines with top celebrities in the society and he is often given VIP treatment at most events. Also, he only attends selected events.

Bobrisky reportedly bought a 5 bedroom duplex in the Lekki Peninsula area of Lagos State early in 2017 and even held a house warming party. He also took to his Snapchat to show off the different sections of his house, revealing it took about N12 million to decorate and furnish the interior of the house. He also single-handedly declared his networth.

He boasts of having N40 million in two of his active bank accounts and still hustling to become a billionaire before the age of 30 years. He also said his cosmetic store is worth N30 million. He always condemns haters for judging him despite the hardship he experienced before his millions started rolling in. He is always in the news for one thing or the other, and he’s termed a controversial celebrity on social media. He tends to always get away with a lot of his controversies, despite the fact that his alleged homosexual activities do not go down well with the norms of the country. He has remained a media sensation, his words and posts are extremely controversial.

A few weeks ago, the DirectorGeneral of National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe in an interview with Vanguard newspapers frowned at the activities of the crossdresser. According to him “Bobrisky is a national disgrace. He started by selling and using bleaching creams. Now, he has grown boobs, bums, and hips. If a Bobrisky is doing well with his immoral lifestyle, how do you convince youths to do the right thing?”

Bobrisky has the right, but not within the Nigerian environment; There are others like him but they live outside the country. If we don’t address Bobrisky as early as possible, he will build a team that will spread like wildfire. This will result in a lot of suicide cases because the typical Nigerian parent would not want to see their child become a Bobrisky……….”

His well-publicized lavish birthday party could not hold as the venue was surrounded by Policemen. And according to him, a whopping N19 million went down the drain for the party.

In one of his interviews, he granted Sun News online he talked about how he became a Crossdresser. According to Bobrisky I am from a polygamous family, my dad married 3 wives, my mum is the last life with 3 children.

My parents had issues at some point and my dad said my mum could go with her children. It was later agreed that my brother and sister should stay with my dad being the older ones while I lived with my mum. She sent me to primary and secondary schools. I went to Kings College and University of Lagos, where I studied Accounting. Before I gained admission into UNILAG. I lost my mum in 2008. She was a Muslim she actually traveled for Hajj, and died there.

This made me go back to my father’s house while living with my mum. I learned business tactics from her, she sold lace and other textiles fabrics in Lagos Island. I used to go to her shop on Saturdays to help out. Shortly after moving to my dad’s house, I gained admission into the University of Lagos.

“In my 200 level, I started trading. I sold clothes to my friends and hosted males, but I was not making money the way I wanted. I sat down one day and told myself that I wanted to become famous. My dream has always been to become famous and controversial. I said to myself “ I want to make money from my trade, so what can I do?”

“I started having different plans since I do more of makeups and sell female and male clothes, I decided to do cross-dressing to draw attention. If I start cross-dressing, it would sell me out there, it would draw people’s attention.

That was how I became so famous. People were like, is this a boy or a girl? My plan worked, I became controversial I started selling creams, clothes, and makeup in a large quantity. From there, I started making money. I got a store on the mainland selling clothes after then I got a bigger shop in Lekki Phase 1, where I still operate my Cosmetic business till date. Nigerians have this attitude when they see a man acting like a woman or doing female stuff they tag him Gay, but we all have our plans and aims laid out. I wouldn’t want to be a kidnapper, a thief, or a fraudster in the nearest future. So I am using what I have to get what I want. I thought of what to do to make cool cash and become famous and that is why I became Bobrisky. The name came about because people were calling me Bobo, saying that wearing women outfit as a guy is a risk. It takes a lot of courage to do that, so I took Bob from Bobo and added risky. That was how I became Bobrisky. Social media is full of tales of Bobrisky. Bobrisky did boobs, did ass and all that”.

He also added “if you have any plan drafted for your future, you should be able to carry your family along so that they won’t feel ashamed or bad that you are going astray. I made my dad understand what I wanted to do. I made my grandma understand too. They know that I am not bad. I started to crossdress a few years ago, now I am famous, I have a house in Lekki, I have 2 shops, an endorsement and big clients, most of my clients are wives of top politicians, they patronise my wears because I wear more of Jhalamians and decent outfits.

Bobrisky in the last few months has bagged different endorsement deals and movie roles and also rolls with celebrities in the society, which people frown about.
