+ GMD Salutes Chairman and CEO’s Humble Rise to Industry Leadership
The TwinsFaja Group of Companies hosted its annual end-of-year celebration last night, bringing together staff, partners, friends and members of the wider TwinsFaja family for an all-day event of gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment.
In a heartfelt address, the Group Managing Director, Engr. Oluwole paid glowing tribute to the organisation’s workforce and the visionary leadership of the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer, describing them as “the giants on whose shoulders many of us stand today.”
He began with a simple but powerful message: “Thank you.”
According to the GMD, the company’s consistent growth over the years has been driven not by structures or systems, but by the dedication, resilience and creativity of its people.
A Year of Challenges, Growth and Milestones
Engr. Oluwole reflected on the organisation’s journey through the year, noting that 2025 brought both victories and challenges.
Despite economic pressures and heightened competition, he revealed that the company recorded one of its strongest performances yet — a feat he attributed to unity, innovation and the team’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
He praised the seamless collaboration across departments and locations, saying the year showcased the company’s capacity to adapt, expand and strengthen its operations.
A Humble Beginning, A Remarkable Journey
One of the most emotional highlights of the night was the GMD’s narration of the inspiring rise of the company’s founders — fondly referred to as the “Jerusalem Couple.”
He recounted their humble beginnings nearly 35 years ago:
The Chairman, once known simply as “Taiye Olokada.”
The CEO, fondly remembered as “Kemi the trader, Kemi the hairdresser,” on the streets of Abaranje, Ikotun.
From striving daily just to earn a meal, the couple has grown into celebrated leaders with a business empire boasting numerous branches and an unmatched presence in their sector.
Engr. Oluwole, who described himself as the “first son of the organisation,” also shared personal memories of starting out with the couple in his secondary school days — working as a loader, driven not by titles or promises but by love for the vision.
He revealed that he once turned down an opportunity to study abroad for a master’s degree, choosing instead to stay and build the company. “It was a decision worth it,” he said, acknowledging the impact of his loyalty and the blessings that followed.
