A United States Appeals court has upheld a ruling mandating Senator Buruji Kashamu to face a drug trafficking trial.
Chicago prosecutors accuse Buruji Kashamu of heading a heroin trafficking ring in the 1990s.
But Kashamu insists the prosecutors want his dead brother instead.
In an April 2015 filing, Kashamu had asked a district court to prevent his “abduction abroad by U.S. authorities”.
The ruling means that Kashamu can be extradited from Nigeria to the U.S. to answer to the charges.
