Who is Fizzy Mayor?
My name is Mayowa Fisayo, popularly known as Fizzy Mayor I’m from Ogun state. I’m signed under Jonliz Music Record label. I am one of Nigeria’s hip hop artistes, I do rap and more of afro-pop.
How did music start for you?
It started from church. Then we continued when I got school, and later we took it to the street.

At what age?
I started singing at age 6.
What inspires your genre of music?
The inspiration came from God. I chose music because I see music lives I’m me. It’s what I have been doing for a very long time. I really don’t know what I will be doing aside music
Really?
Yea… I there is no music, well, I might as well be a businessman (laughs).
So far, are you having a nice time as an artiste?
I am thanking God. He has been supporting me all the way.
Which song actually given you a break?
I recorded a song last year, and I have shot the music video. The title is “Shon mi”
Have you done any Collabo?
Yeah..I did a collabo with Ruggedman, Cynthia Morgan and Junior boy. I am working on my album at the moment though.
Which other artistes are you looking forward to working with?
I love to work with Davido, Patoranking, Peruzzi and Tiwa Savage.
Most of your songs and raps go in a long rhyme. How do you research your rhymes?
Really, that part is beyond me. Whenever I start to compose, it just comes effortlessly. I just notice that I keep going on and on, and every line will make a lot of sense. Let me just say God puts the inspiration in there for me. I just pick it up literally and start shooting.
Are you the same person in the studio, on stage and real life, or are they different personality?
This is my normal person. In studio, with my fans, on stage and in the regular world. This is always me.
How do you bring out the rap artiste in you…most people believe there is no such thing as calmness in rap songs…
It is the flavor of the song that I want to perform that determines how I manage the stage. I can always go in the “street vibes” when it matters, if I notice what appeals to my listeners, but I am a regular calm guy.
Your Rap Song titled Elomi, what inspires it?
I have a friend that works with Nigerian Breweries. He called me and told me some guys are working on Elomi and suggested I jump into the vibe. So I came up with the lines. There are different artistes that jumped into the vibe, but mine became more prominent in the street.
How is your Rap different from other Naija Artistes?
My kind of style is different from what others are doing. I do more of Yoruba, but it/s more like 50, like Ludacris. But I do it more in Yoruba. I love their vibes and punchlines. So I listen more to them and develop myself around the genre.
