Before she dropped off the showbiz scene to go and rear a family, Doyin Aggrey was big in entertainment. She used to present TV programmes, but about 5 years ago, she took time off to go and rear a family. Now she’s back. And she is working on many projects, she told City People Publisher SEYE KEHINDE last week during an interview. Below are excerpts.

How did you get into entertainment? For how many years have you been into it now?

All my life, I have been into Entertainment I started with Yotomi Cable TV as a Presenter, Producer in 2003. That was when I started with Alade Aromire then. I used to package my programme then apart from working for Yotomi Cable Television. It used to be Yoruba programmes. I used to have a programme on LTV 8 then. I use to have a programme on HITV also. I used to be a Location Manager then. I do a lot of things when it comes to entertainment. Then, I didn’t use to showcase my face on movies. I only produce movies. I don’t showcase my face on TV, I am good to go.

How did you develop that interest?

Since when I was young I have always liked to talk. I have been a talkative. I like to see things and express myself. When I was young I didn’t like Entertainment that. When I was young my friends used to encourage me that I should go and do a job that requires speaking. Normally, I am a shy person. But I can talk and talk and talk. I mean reasonable talk. I now realize that some of my friends used to call me to be the MC at their events.  I didn’t plan for it. It just happened. They all praise me that I can do it.

In late 2003, I used to have a friend. His name is Dapo Oshin. He worked withYotomi Cable Television then. He invited me to come and visit them then. When I got there I met this girl, Labake. She said they have a programme, will I like to come on it? I said Yes, why not. By the time I got on the programme thePresenter was amazed at my performance. I ended up hijacking the programme. SoUncle Alade Aromire now praised me. He said I am going to give you a programmeon TV. You won’t believe it everybody wanted to see me on TV. They say they like how I talk. That I have this sharp mouth. That’s how everything started. I cando anything when it comes to Entertainment.

Inthe last few years now, what have you been up to?

Forlike over 5 years, I had to stop Entertainment to take care of family stuff. Ihad to take care of my kids and do so many things. I am just coming back ontrack. But before I stopped I was a Producer. I had programmes that I packaged for myself, like TV talk shows and other things. But for the past 5 years, I had to stop. Then my close friends, Funsho  Adeolu and Ope Olusanya will come to my house to tell me to come back and show my talents.

Theykept telling me not to kill my talent. Funsho will come, and Ope would come to talkto me too. I used to tell them you people won’t kill me ooo. I just had to come backbecause I know it is what I love doing.

Now that you are back what will you be doing?

Producing, writing scripts and packaging normal TV talk shows.
