Moruf Adeniyi who lovers of Nigeria movies fondly call Murphy Adeniyi is really hitting the movie stage big. His most recent jobs, part of which include “Whose Fault” a blockbuster speaks volume of his great works. The multi-talented actor and producer has grown to become a star who many upcoming actors look up to in the industry.
Apart from the fact that he is making waves, he is also an actor and producer who is much talked about courtesy the creativity brought to every of his movies.
Adeniyi is a native of Oyan in Odo-Otin Local Government, Osun state. He had his formative years in Osun where he proceeded to Osun State Polytechnic, Iree but as destiny would have it, he couldn’t complete his ND programme.
Out of his quest to become great in life, Adeniyi left his comfort zone where he lived with his parents to Lagos to start a new but promising life. On his arrival in Lagos, he stayed with a sister who got married to star actor Lukman Raji. After many attempts at finding a befitting job which proved abortive, he later learnt about movie editing, something he later developed passion for.
From there, Adeniyi developed great interest in acting and movie production. He learnt the act of movie editing from his then boss, Mr. Kayode Durodola. Over the years, he has improved and showed mastery of the art making high sought-after in the industry. He became an actor who many top filmmakers love to have him on set.
In a chat with Citypeople, Adeniyi revealed how his close pal, Joshua Ojo introduced him into acting in 2008. There he acted in 3 scenes in the movie called “Panshaga” and ever since, he had developed more interest in taking acting as a profession. Then he began combining acting with editing.
He also related how one of his clients then, a lady who he usually edited her movies, developed interest in his movie production skill. She sponsored him to produce his first movie titled “Omo Orukan”.
Two years later, he went ahead to produce his second movie, a masterpiece titled “Itiju”. He said, from there, he started going to locations to take part in movie production.
He also spoke about his top notch editing skill which was exemplified in top movies, the likes of Jelili, Ile Alayo and a few others.
In 2019, Adeniyi produced his 3rd movie with the title “Ewu” where he and star actress Mercy Aigbe played the lead role. The movie no doubt shot him to limelight as an actor who has come to stand and make impact in the ever dynamic movie industry.
His 4th movie was “Oku Aye”. The movie is still being watched on various YouTube platforms till date.
Right now, Adeniyi’s latest movie “Whose Fault” is nothing less than a masterpiece. The movie was released in 2023 after he returned from Dubai. It is widely streamed online and enjoyed by a lot lovers of good movies. Notable among the top movies Adeniyi took part in are: Above the law, Agbegilere, Fifehanmi, Married affairs, Unknow, My happiness, Lahlah, Ojiji okan, Akiyesi and Love & Trust.
Adeniyi is happily married to his darling and ever-supporting wife, Omobolanle Adeniyi. Their marriage is blessed 3 sons.
