The Independent National Electoral Commission extended presidential
and National Assembly elections till next week 23 February after a rigorous
meeting within the commission.
The Governorship and state assembly elections will take
place on 9 March, instead of 2 March as initially scheduled.
Nigerians have taken to twitter to register their disappointment
over the postponement of elections..
Read thread below..
So INEC decided to postpone the election few hours to elections. Just few hours , not even a day. This is incredible. Nigeria is a Joke
The INEC chairman should resign. It's a complete shame & proof of incapability for them to postpone the elections hours to it. They had 4 yrs to prepare for this. He always told us that they were ready. Why didn't he outline the challenges weeks ago? It's a plan to rig!#INEC
Dr., after perusing the press release, I came to a conclusion that INEC has no iota of respect for the electorates. No courtesy of "We apologize for any I conveniences this may have caused"
Immediately the postponement became official, Policemen watching corpers in a part of Lagos just shouted: "Dem don postpone elections o, make una dey go house"… and drove off leaving the vulnerable corpers more vulnerable … INEC no try
