It will be loud in Lagos particularly within the Christian fold as Pastor Adeboye is set to celebrate a great milestone of his life. The anointed man of God will be celebrating his 80th birthday on 2nd March 2022. Major activities are already lined up in different parts of the continent to celebrate the big day. We can tell you that Pastor Adeboye will be celebrated in 5 different continents and several countries, Australia, the USA, Jesus House in London, UK, Canada, South Africa, UAE for the celebration of his new age.
Perfectly planned by the organising committee, both home and in the diaspora, led by the PFN President, Bishop Wole Oke, the entire Redeemed Church is set to record another great feat as they will be coming together to honour God in Papa Adeboye’s life and also to make sure he gets a grand birthday.
It was gathered that over 50 gospel artistes will be involved, hundreds of men of God to participate and thousands of worshippers to gather and celebrate God’s faithfulness in pastor Adeboye’s life.
The countdown to the 80th birthday celebration of Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has already begun in Lagos. It started a few weeks back.
A coalition of interdenominational pastors and prominent Christian leaders a few weeks back launched the ‘LightUp 40 Correctional Facilities outreach’.
The latter is one of the initiatives of the 80 Days Soul Winning challenge, which is aimed at winning eight million souls in 80 days to celebrate his 80th birthday.
The ongoing 80 Days Soul Winning challenge had been on between December 13, 2021, and on March 2, 2022, when Pastor Adeboye will turn 80.
The organisers say the initiative is a birthday gift to a man who has dedicated the major part of his adult life to soul winning.
Speaking at the unveiling event held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Francis Wale-Oke stated that the project resonates with God as soul winning is the heartbeat of God.
The cleric also noted that the Reach4Christ team will be visiting 40 Correctional Facilities across Nigeria with the message of the gospel in a bid to win hundreds of thousands of souls and to raise several thousand youths who will be committed to soul-winning.
As part of the initiative, the team will also be impacting students and the respective Correctional Facilities with various social impact projects. As part of his birthday celebration, the General Overseer Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye stormed Gombe and was received by the Deputy Governor of Gombe State. He went to honour his spiritual children who organized an event titled “ light up Nigeria” to mark his 80th birthday. He informed the Deputy Governor that, it was never part of his plans to visit places during the birthday activities but because it was an instruction from God, he has no option than to come.
In commemoration of his 80th birthday, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Folu, also commissioned a dialysis centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.
The inauguration of the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre, ATBU Bauchi, held on Friday, February 18, 2022. The centre for the treatment of kidney-related ailments was built by His Love Foundation, the charity arm of the church. The centre has dialysis machines, a 30KVA generator, medical water reverse osmosis purification system, amongst others.
Preparation is already in full gear for the forthcoming celebration of the 80th birthday as the church’s official music label, ONE HALLELUJAH RECORDS, has also announced an 80 80 80 singing challenge in anticipation of the event.
The 80 80 80 Challenge is a singing competition that will be on for 80 days with 80 contestants representing 80 countries from across the globe.
Interested participants are expected do a cover of any recorded song by the One Hallelujah Records, including Leaping Up, God Bless You, A New Wave Of Glory, and It’s Time To Fly and send.
The prizes to be won include Cash Prizes, 1st Prize – $2000, 2nd Prize – $1000 and 3rd Prize – $500 then a Visit To Daddy & Mummy G O, Opportunity to minister at the special birthday programme organized for Daddy G O & the special Holy Ghost Service in March 2022.
As it is always being done yearly, the birthday will also feature an 80 hours marathon praise. The 80 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise is continuous praise featuring over 50 worship leaders, over 15,000 worshipers, in 7 countries, 5 continents rendering unlimited praises to the unlimited God. Why 80 Hours? Each hour of praise represents each year of Daddy Adeboye’s life. The programme always take place at the Youth Centre, Redemption Camp, it is always been packaged by the Youth Ministry. The Marathon Messiah’s Praise is an annual praise event, organized by the Youths of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to give gratitude to God over the life of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye (General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God) during his (Pastor Adeboye) birthday in March and Marathon Messiah’s Praise will recognize the value and importance of the contributions of its volunteers.
The grand finale will take place at the redemption Camp city on March 2nd which is a special day, it falls on Ash Wednesday. It was gathered that top dignitaries from the presidency, and across the continents will touch down Lagos to honour the man of God as he celebrates this huge milestone.
This promises to be a wonderful time in the Lord as Pastor Adeboye’s wife, Folu, who is the perfect host will be overseeing all the activities lined up for her husband on his special day, Papa Adeboye’s children are also heavily involved in the planning to also make sure their father is well celebrated.
The life of pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a fulfilment of the scriptures. Born on March 2, 1942, into a humble family in the village of Ifewara, Osun State. Pastor Enoch Adeboye often humorously states that his family was so poor that even the poor people called them poor. As a matter of fact, he unashamedly tells his congregation that he never owned shoes until he was eighteen years of age. What he possessed though were physical intangibles such as focus, consistency, diligence, ambition, a brilliant mind and a determination to succeed in life. In 1956 Enoch Adeboye was admitted into Ilesha Grammar School, Ilesha, Osun State and as a youth he discovered a passion for books, an aptitude for science and in particular the field of Mathematics. This led to an academic journey in the field of Mathematics against incredible odds including but not limited to finances, the Nigerian Civil War and academic politics. By the time he was done, Enoch Adeboye had obtained not only a Bachelors (BSc.) degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1967, but also a Masters (MSc.) Degree in Hydrodynamics and a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Lagos, in 1969 and 1975 respectively. One of the motivations for these academic achievements was Enoch Adeboye’s passionate desire to become the youngest Vice-Chancellor (University President) of any one of the frontline Universities in Nigeria. It did seem that his academic ambition would be realized as his academic career flourished. However, this was not to be as a greater career awaited him in the service of the Lord. In 1967 Enoch Adeboye got married to his beloved wife Foluke Adenike Adeboye (nee Adeyokunnu) and together have successful children who are all pastors.
