UK-Based Adetutu Olowe-Ogunleye and her siblings stormed Ibadan to give their beloved mother, late Mrs. Christianah Bamidele Olowe (nee Joshua) a befitting burial ceremony.
Mrs. Adetutu Olowe-Ogunleye is a successful businesswoman and prominent member of the Celestial Women Council Worldwide. She is known as Mother Celestial Tutu Olowe- Ogunleye. She is the CEO of Damsey Boutique in the UK. She sells Sultanas, Trimmings & Amures.
Her late mother, Mama Olowe was a veteran nurse and successful business woman who died on 25th of January, 2023 at a graceful age of 86. She excelled at every sphere of life; be it motherhood, career wise, service to god and humanity and so on. She indeed came, she saw and she conquered.
Above all she left behind loving children in Mrs. Adetutu and her siblings who not only took care of her when she was alive but also gave her a worthwhile burial after their glorious exit on the surface of earth. The children have indeed fulfilled the dream of their beloved mother as she would be proud of them in heaven.
The burial ceremony was an eventful one. This spanned through 2 days with the Service of Songs held on Thursday 13th of April, 2023 while the Lying-in-state and funeral service was held the following day, Friday 14th April, 2023. Both the Service of Songs and Funeral Service was held at the Methodist Church, Agodi, Ibadan. The body of the deceased was laid at her residence in Olaogun area of Ibadan giving room for her children, family and well-wishers to see her body for the last time as well as pay their last respect before she was taken to the church for burial.
Mama Olowe’s body was finally lowered into the mother earth as her children and family bid her farewell while raising dust on her coffin, hoping she finds comfort in the bosom of Jesus Christ. This was a period of total sober reflection about the world. Everybody present at the graveside service felt this.
Following the funeral service was a grand reception party in honour of the deceased as the children hosted their guests to a fun filled party. This was held at the popular and massive event centre in town. It is called the Victoria Garden Event Centre. It is located along Sango Eleyele, a highbrow area in Ibadan.
Guests were well received and given delicious treats under a very relaxing event hall. The official music band entertaining guests at the occasion was Showboi and his contemporary music band. He did well in thrilling the hosts and their guests as they stormed the dance floor at intervals dancing to the lovely music played by the band. They rocked the party till the tail end of the day. Mrs. Adetutu and her siblings, Mrs. Ronke Pearce and Mr. Rotimi Olowe in conjunction with other members of the extended family have made good memories of their mum’s burial just like they took good care of her when she was alive. This is indeed a reference point to other children whose parents are still alive. They can learn a lot from the Olowes.
The 2 days burial ceremony was largely attended by prominent people, many of whom came from far and near to be part of the ceremony. They came to honour Mrs. Adetutu and her siblings. Many of them are the wonderful father; MSE JD Nunayon, VSE Osodi, VSE Aduba, VSE Ogunbameru, VSE Soji Kasumu, VSE Oloye, Oluso Adeyinka, Alagba Shonekan, Mummy Ogunremi, Grandma Fagbemi, Iya Cele Oyekan, Members of CCC Oke Ado Parish, Members of Oyo State Celestial Women Council, Members of Celestial Women of Faith, Friends and wonderful well-wishers. Also worthy of note are lovely families like the Obalaja’s and the Joshua’s. They all stood by children of the deceased throughout the Service of Songs and burial ceremony.
