Passionate Humanitarian Foundation celebrates International Day of older persons with the aged of Winiseph Care Home

by Reporter

And here comes another day in commemoration of the Aged. The UN International Day of Older Persons is celebrated every October 1st, which coincides with the day our Nation, Nigeria, gained its independence. This is a unique and special day. The Passionate Humanitarian Foundation chooses to visit, entertain, and present gift items to one of the homes for the aged, WINISEPH CARE HOME, Omole Residential Phase 1, Ikeja, Lagos.

As a policy, the foundation has visited the homes several times, extending its good gestures and humanitarian service towards the members and staff, taking good care of them. In a way, it emphasises the need to keep our old ones in good health, maintain closeness, and pay undivided attention to their needs. Many people are preoccupied with one essential service or another, especially in the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan city like Lagos, and cannot give senior citizens the required attention they deserve; hence, they turn to find solace in their homes.

The Passionate Humanitarian Foundation, under innovative management, adopts a cutting-edge approach that ensures the visit is conducted in a way that keeps participants happy and joyful. It is understood that when they are well taken care of, the evidences are seen in their activities and longevity.

Some of the items presented are for daily use which includes Adult Diapers, Bags of Rice, Garri, Semolina, Wheat, Vegetable Oil, Palm oil, Drinks, Water, Toothpaste, Toothbrush, Carrin of Custard, Detergent, Bathing Soap, Washing Soap, Carton of Milo, Carton of Milk, Packs of Tissue, Pack of Robb, Vicks inhaler, Menthol sweet, Vaseline, Tetmosol Antiseptics, Air freshener, Biscuits, and other food items and beverages.

Interestingly, the team led by the President of the foundation, Ambassador Adunke Olatunji, describes the outreach as a mission accomplished because of the joy she derives from seeing these senior citizens in good mood. She expresses her joy and appreciates those in support of the project physically, financially, and in other ways. Individuals and organisations give their support and some are available to add more colours to the occasion.

She equally gives kudos to the volunteers who despite the early showers, left their comforts and joined to make the event a successful one. It was a total show of love. We cannot take this expression for granted. You really made the day a memorable day not only for older persons but also for entire Humanitarian Passionate Foundation.

The President appreciates God for life and the opportunity to be a tool in providing this kind of service.
