The International Executive Council of the Valentine Unimuke Foundation (VUF) has met with the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, H.E. Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, to explore strategic pathways for partnership aimed at promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across the African continent.
The high-level delegation, led by the Foundation’s President, Dr. Valentine Unimuke, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting the African Union’s “Silencing the Guns in Africa” initiative, a flagship agenda under the AU Agenda 2063 framework.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in constructive dialogue on strengthening collaborative efforts in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and humanitarian interventions. The discussions centred on developing joint initiatives that align with the Valentine Unimuke Foundation’s Pan-African mandate to foster unity, resilience, and inclusive growth within African societies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a mutual understanding was reached to establish structured cooperation between the Valentine Unimuke Foundation and the African Union, focusing on policy engagement, peace missions, and youth-led initiatives that advance continental integration and social harmony.
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Valentine Unimuke emphasised the Foundation’s unwavering dedication to the cause of peace and African unity:
